The build quality of these binoculars is outstanding. They feel sturdy and well-crafted, giving me confidence in their durability. Good for night vision if you have a very clear unobstructed view of your target viewing area, even in low to zero light. Works well in areas that have no bushes or leaves between you and your target. If you’re trying to look thru something like a row of bushes or have any brush, trees, leaves, etc., you will be very disappointed, the IR light will “light up” the leaves making nearly anything beyond them unseeable. They do work extremely well in very low light when the IR is inactivated for seeing things in extremely low light. That is a definite plus! The light source from these binoculars will be visible to the area (or persons) being watched as a red light, they do not operate in a total dark stealth mode if that’s what you're looking for. Picture quality is very good. This is not a variable zoom item. Zoom is always on, then you can double it digitally. Selling company is in USA but product is not labeled anywhere on Amazon nor did I see it on Creative XP’s website saying item is “Made In USA.” Several sellers on Amazon have very similar items with same looking binocular shell, same design, same grips, etc that are labeled as Made In China. Unit I bought had no mention of where it was made. I suggest you contact seller to inquire as to country of origin. Overall I found it worked better for me as a very low light binocular unit than as an IR binocular unit but in the end, I returned mine. Maybe I just need something that these were not, what I was wanting to know is if my neighbors were outside on their patios or in their yards at night but I was unable to “see” or detect their presence because of the light foliage between myself and my neighbor, thus rendering this unit or device rating as “not useable as I wanted.” ... show more

I purchased this for numerous reasons, which at this point this handy little night vision tech has exceeded my expectations. Pro's; You can see in total darkness, the large screen is great for viewing and replaying, after figuring out how the filter cap works I learned that with the cap filter off and no IR, this unit picks up lot's of ambient light from a full moon makes it awesome. Best distance, as far as clarity is concerned, was about 750 yards out without IR and about 500 with IR. My conditions may very due to location. You don't really know how many critter's are around you until you own one of these. The case and accessories are great, very functional and good quality. Con's; Due to the amount of batteries, the unit is a little heavy which can make long viewing time and steady footage a little difficult. Poor user manual as far as functionality goes. Example I did not realize how powerful this unit was in the dark after removing the filter cap and using just ambient lighting. Still trying to figure out how to set time and date. In conclusion I have already recommended these night vision binoculars to other people I know, and would purchase these again if I had to. Maybe the maker of this night vision can put out some video's explaining all the features this unit offers. One thing I would like to see is for Creative-XP to design head gear that could accommodate this particular model to free up your hands. ... show more

They're not bad for close viewing but when you zoom out very far for either daytime or night time viewing the picture is very distorted. Not highly recommended.

I was surprised at the picture quality . Definitely seems well built, comes with a neck strap, a nice carrying case, and cleaning cloth. I played back a few videos and the clarity is really good. If you hook up a external power source (like a powerbank, The IR has 5 settings. This is one of 3 others i have bought recently (returned all others) I have kept so far. I do like the fact they are based in the US and from what i been hearing they have great customer service. One thing I don't like about them is the IR illuminator is REALLY visible. I read in the Q&A section that is was NOT visible. It does have 2 different types of illumination. One that DOES not require the IR illuminator and the other must use the ambient light source to illuminate the VERY bright screen. Which brings me to the 2nd issue I am not sure if I like or not and that's the screen is very bright. YES I KNOW it has 3 brightness settings but it still will disturb your natural vision at night .. My other (much less $) NV monoculars are starlight powered and have the green back drop and DO NOT mess with your night vision. (But they do not record or do any of the other fancy things the GlassOwl can do) I have rigged up a soft black cloth to drop down over the viewer and put a small hole through the cloth (big enough for just one eye to look through) to view the screen. I do wish these two issues could be addressed because these NV binoculars are very nice. They definitely have their place among your equipment but for the price, i haven't fully decided if i am going to keep them. Its a hard decisions because they are so darn nice and just really really well built. You can really feel it in your hands.. I haven't had the product that long. But i can say the company has had a reputation for good equipment ... show more
