Great product for solar energy. The wires are 12 gauge copper for the arms and ten gauge copper for the main lead. Those are tin plated copper wires to reduce oxidation and corrosion. Do not accept CCA wiring as that has a muich higher resistance. CCA stands for copper plated Aluiminum and will heat up much faster and cause burden voltage drops so that your panels efficiency will be reduced significantly. This made it easier to combine 4 panels. Using a regular 4/1 connector, it stretched the wires on the solar panel a little tight. This gave me enough slack to work with. I don't have to reach up under the panels to assemble and disassemble.

The male connectors snap off while trying to connect. Had two of these snap while connecting to solar panels and the pin broke off. Plastic appears to be very brittle.
