  • Quality portable ac
Size: 1800BTU+ remote control
The Bouge Rv portable ac unit is a mini version of a larger ac unit, but with the great advantages of minimal power consumption, portability, and compact size. It's light weight also makes it very easy to take anywhere. I had a small technical issue when I first received it and Samyi at Bouge Rv answered my email promptly and took care of my concern right away. Their customer service is top notch. This little ac unit puts out a great flow of air for it's size and it is a welcomed luxury to our camping excursions. To have this luxury of comfort is well worth the initial investment. Great product, great company. ... show more

  • Okay when works
Size: 2899BTU
Worked for about a 4 using it at night. Now it won’t power on and if it does it’ll die in 10 mins. Additionally, I have to mess with the screen to power it on. I have a truck camper and the AC works great but you need to it blow on you. It’ll cool the whole camper a couple degrees over several hours. This is in Florida with the temps in the 90s. In a less humid or temps in the 80s I can see the AC doing great. ... show more

  • WORTH IT
Size: 2899BTU
Does a very good job cooling down my RV bedroom to about 72 degrees. Very low noise level. I'm in S Fl and outside temp is about 90. What I would like to see is a different attachment on the cool outlet. Right now it is a long hose. What would be nice is instead of the hose have an attachment for the ring that is wider than the circle and can be aimed up, down, left or right. So the attachment would be the ring and this "aimer". ... show more

  • Did not cool area as advertised.
Size: 2899BTU
The AC wouldn’t cool my 2002 Dodge conversion van even though it’s advertised for use in an RV which would be larger I would think. I returned it and on a positive note, the return was simple and easy.

  • AC for your tent or truck camper - good customer service
Size: 2899BTU
The media could not be loaded. Update. After talking to the seller about the cooling speed of the AC they recommend I reduce the cooling area as my camper is larger than the BTU of this u it. I did as suggested. I added a temperature monitor in my camper (not pop up) to provide an idea of how long it takes to cool a smaller space down. The space I cooled will be close to a 3 person tent. After 30 minutes the space is noticeable cooler. ——- Reducing the cooling space. All you need is a blanket or a tarp to divide the space so you can cool it down faster. The AC came well packaged with 3x ducts, 3x duct connectors, 3x duct end caps, 1 drain hose, 1 Ac power supply. 1 DC cable with lug terminals, an owners manual and the AC unit. I set this AC up in my 2007 four wheel camper Hawk. We had low 90s temperature and the camper has been cooking in my drive way all day with hottest spots being 115 degrees. Before setting up the AC the camper thermostat was reading 92 degrees. After running the air conditioner for 3 hours the temperature went down 85 on the thermostat. One side of the camper was cooler than the other. The compressor and fan were on max for the full 3hrs and I used up 912 watts running the AC for the 3 hour period. I powered the Air conditioner with AC and DC power. In my camper, I used a 12v to 24v (20a) converter off my 100ah lithium house battery and the max draw recorded was just above 301w (use a 30amp fuse). If you are running this Air conditioner off a 100ah battery, you should be able to run it for 4 hours before needing to recharge your battery. I also ran the air conditioner of my Bluetti eb70 power station with the provided power supply(360w). I see a max draw up to 230w on the Bluetti display. If you are using this with a power station, I recommend getting something with an inverter of 600watt or greater and a battery a capacity of 1000 to 1500watt hour. This should give you 4-5 hours of run time. Note that this is not a high BTU AC unit. It’s not going to cool you from across the tent quickly. You will need to have the vent close to you to feel the “cool” in the beginning. After running for a few hours, you should feel the area around the vent cooler. Tips If you are tent camping or truck camping it’s better to keep the Air conditioner out of the area you are trying to cool by just bring the ducts from the cold side in the tent or camper. The hot side of the AC got up to 136 degrees at one point and having the hot exhaust hose inside my camper it took much lower to cool down. Before trying to cool a hot camper or tent with the air conditioner, try to help by exhausting as much existing hot air in the tent or truck camper. Quirks 1) when the air conditioner reaches the desire temperature. The Ac compressor kicks off, but with in 10 to 15 seconds it will kick on again to maintain the temperature. So you will hear it cycle on and off a lot. 2) you have to put the unit off the ground so you can it can drain properly with the drain hose on a downward slop. I collected over 20oz of water in one day (humidity was around mod 60 to low 70s). Final thoughts. The air conditioner that can run on DC are still quite expensive. This was the highest BTU and most compact Portable AC I can find at a reasonable price. It was an expensive purchase, but after camping in 100 degrees weather with kids that needs to nap, this purchase was a no brainer for me, I can keep the AC running for free with 400w of solar panels so I don’t need to carry any additional fuel to power a generator. I am able to use my LiFePo4 house battery (safer) bs NMC lithium batteries that some other portable ac unit are sold with. While the marketing materials from different manufacture always show a sleek AC unit, know that they all need ducts to work effectively so keep that in mind as you will need additional storage space for the ducts. ... show more

  • Not for me (mcs)
Size: 2899BTU
I have chemical sensitivities and something about the materials used triggered a huge migraine for me. I woke up in 53 humidity and in pain. I was trying to use this to primarily keep the humidity under 50 while car camping, and with the unit inside and exhaust venting out, it could not do this. Even on a cool day with low humidity, the temperature in my vehicle was warmer and more humid than outside and it was not a sunny day. I will say that during the time I used it (less than 24 hrs), it did not leak any water inside my vehicle (which I had been worried about after that happened with a different brand of a similar style) but I had preemptively propped the front up and the unit that had leaked took more time to do so than I had this running. They do note in the instructions that leaks may happen if you are not completely level which I appreciated. ... show more
