I've bought a few charge controller's over the past 5 years or so. I went this one mostly due to the name, reviews and price. I have bought a few of their products in the past and have been super impressed with the quality, given the price. This controller doesn't stray far from my prior thoughts. I like how it does not scroll through 5+ different values like the others I have. I really just want to know what the current battery's charge is at and how many amps am I getting from my panels. I know on this and most controllers you can hit a button to scroll through, but most of the time I just glance at it till I see what I'm interested in. With this just showing the battery and input values (with a shot interval), I'm not wasting time watching this thing. Also this was super easy to setup. Was my first time using a LiFePO4 battery and it already had the correct settings (but would of been real easy to adjust). I also liked how they included the connector spades (although making them Heat Shrink would of been even better). Some folks have said it's hard to read in direct sun and I would agree but I really didn't see this as a big issue. Shipping took 6 days. Sat in one location almost 3 days. I installed this in my 2010 forest river travel trailer. I did not have a solar system in it. I built it my self. A side from that l like it's looks and works properly. You should have basic electrical stripping and crimping tools to put on the flat terminals that come with unit. I got this unit for looks, function and protection. My last unit did not last and I wanted room to add more panels. Currently I'm happy with the unit. Worth the few dollars it costs. I would recommend this unit to potential buyer's. ... show more

Bought this to use with my trailer after my last Renogy PWM solar controller died. This one looks great, functions well, and is easy to setup/install. I used this on this summers camping trips and was impressed with the quality and how quickly it charged up the battery. The USB port worked perfectly to charge up the phone as well. So after hours of confusion as to why I couldn't get the full 22.8v that the panel is pushing out, I went into the manual. LiFePo4 can only do up to 14.6v. I set the setting to LiFePo4 so that was all good. The setting for it was set to 14.7v, but I can only ever get 13.1 or 13.2... very frustrating. I know the panel is kicking out 22.8v since I tested it myself, but the control box will only allow about 13.2v through. I can't get the numbers to 14v at all for faster charging, especially when I got 132watts kicking out. 13.2 x 6 is only 79 watts! I'm missing out on 21 watts or more that I could be getting! So frustrating! Edit; great customer support. Replies within 24hrs and they sent me a new controller. Sadly I saw no difference after testing the 2. Great customer service and good controller. Only issue I saw was both controller read 4 bars of battery when it is at 1/2 life. Again, not sure what is the cause of some of these issues. Great purchase for only 1 solar panel. ... show more
