Recently upgraded from a standard cooler to this bad boy before we left for a 3 week adventure. To say that this was much more convenient is an understatement! No trips into town just for ice, no worrying about food getting wet when ice inevitably melts, and the dual zones meant we could keep our doggo’s pre made meals frozen for the duration of the trip, without freezing our drinks and snacks. (Yes we cook our pups food every week). It runs fairly quietly (it makes some noise, but it never bothered us), feels durable although I think I’m going to buy the insulated cover since it was packed in with lots of other stuff that did scuff it up a bit, and it feels lighter than our normal cooler was until it’s full. Ours is large, but that’s what I expected when I bought the biggest size they sell lol. We paired this with the battery pack that BougeRV makes for it, their folding 200W solar panel for while we were at camp, and a separate large battery bank that served multiple purposes. We had frequent 90+ degree days, and while the fridge had to use more power to keep things cool, we found it to be very doable. If you also happen to drive a Tacoma like I do, you can plug it into your bed while you’re on the road, but we only tried that for the last couple of days. I personally wouldn’t be charging things from that while the truck is off, but I like to play it extra safe since we’re frequently alone and far from help. If you’re on the edge with this fridge, I would say it’s well worth the money. Honestly, worst case scenario is that you want to go back to the old school, wet and icy method and sell it on marketplace where I was creeping before purchasing from here…. They frequently sell for nearly the same price. You might lose $100 on it if you don’t abuse it.

I've had a small no name 12V fridge for several years and it works pretty well but I wanted something with more space for multi-day camping trips. The 55QT is perfect for 3+ days of drinks and food. The insulation is clearly very good, we camped in very humid conditions and there was minimal condensation on the outside of the fridge, a huge improvement over my old fridge. Temperature regulation is excellent as well. I was most impressed with the efficiency of this fridge. Over 3 days of running it only drew about 30Ah from my battery. It wasn't super hot outside, but this is still very impressive. This fridge draws less power than my old fridge which is just over half the size. Very pleased.

I recently took the BougeRV Rocky V3.0 55-Quart Dual Zone Fridge and the 240Wh Detachable Battery on their first road trip, and they are an awesome choice for traveling. This setup completely eliminates the need for ice, meaning no more soggy food or wasted space. It fits easily in the back of a truck or SUV and is built tough for mobile use. The Test & Performance: I put the dual-zone feature to the test by using one side for cool drinks and snacks, and the other side for ice cream. It kept everything perfectly at my desired temperatures for the entire trip. Battery Life & Charging: The power management is seamless. The fridge charged off my car's power port while driving, and then ran off the detachable backup battery overnight. After running continuously for 12 hours straight on just the battery, it still had 18% life left the next morning. Pros: * True Dual-Zone: Successfully keeps ice cream frozen while keeping drinks perfectly chilled. * No Ice Needed: Maximizes storage space and keeps food dry. * Great Battery Integration: Seamlessly switches to the detachable battery overnight and charges while driving. * Rugged Design: Heavy-duty build that feels right at home in a vehicle trunk or truck bed. Cons: * Heavy: This unit is quite heavy to move around. * No Wheels: It must be carried using the side handles. I knew this going in, but adding wheels to this specific design would be a major upgrade.

Excellent fridge. Battery is great and holds a long charge but it isn’t included and is expensive. If you have a constant power source you don’t need it but for overlanding that’s a big ask. I like the dual zone capacity and it’s on off by inserting/removing the divider. The capacity is good but the basket on the large side is awkward and not good for pulling out to fill. It doesn’t sit square due to its awkward shape. Lastly, the instructions for removing the door/lid from BougeRV are vague and poor due to the force it takes to pull it out. I spent a couple of hours trying to remove it as well as research it. I finally figured out what it took and made a video on my YT channel Motoring Neurons. It’s a short review and at the end I demonstrate popping off the lid/door. I’ll post just the removal tip here.

Got this unit today.. Been running it inside the home(76 F inside) off of elcoflow delta plus 3. It is drawing 35 W with both fridge and freezer mode on.. Everything working as expected First impression : this is heavy compared to a traditional cooler to move around at it needs wheels..a cooler this heavy will have wheels. I should have gotten a model with wheels.
