  • Love The Dual Zone Feature
Size: 69 Quart
The dual zone feature on this car fridge is great. It is a large fridge and there is enough room to store both frozen and refrigerated items. The size is good for long term use when out off grid. The weight isn't too bad, it is large. When it's full of food items it can become heavy. It doesn't make much noise when the compressor is on and is nice when sleeping. The temperature is right on and very responsive when it needs to come on. It can be powered by our solar station and it also has the option to use the BougeRV extra battery which is very nice for situations if the solar runs down. Very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Working as expected but need wheels
Size: 55 Quart
Got this unit today.. Been running it inside the home(76 F inside) off of elcoflow delta plus 3. It is drawing 35 W with both fridge and freezer mode on.. Everything working as expected First impression : this is heavy compared to a traditional cooler to move around at it needs wheels..a cooler this heavy will have wheels. I should have gotten a model with wheels. ... show more

  • Flexible and attractive portable fridge/freezer for home or the road Flexible and attractive portable fridge/freezer for home or the road
Size: 41 Quart
I knew when I asked for this that I'd be using it mainly inside the house, but it's good to know it's ready to grab and go in case of a bug-out situation. Like many people who care more about being resilient and prepared than having a magazine showcase home, my living room sports a large upright freezer and, now, this smaller quick-access chest freezer/fridge where I plan to store meats, individually portioned flat packs, and vac-sealed meals. It holds a surprising amount for its size, and it seems designed with standard grocery store packaging in mind. I think it looks great sitting up on my Daddy's WWII footlocker, close to the kitchen and our food inventory scanner, and it's also within reach of one of my off-grid solar banks. What's most important to me is the energy efficiency of all of our appliances, whether for off-grid powering or just to lower the electricity bill. When I plugged this portable in for its mandatory 12 hours of pre-use sitting, and it was empty, it consumed roughly 29 watts per hour on ECO mode until it came to full freezing temps on both the left and right partitioned sides. Then it stabilized to an average of 27.5 watts per hour over a 24-hour period (660 watts total). I haven't tested it in fridge mode, but it's so well insulated that I suspect the power usage will be about the same no matter what temperature you set the two sides on. You can control the settings via the app, but I'm getting away from apps as much as possible and so was glad to know all adjustments can be made manually using the onboard buttons. I'm very grateful that L and R are molded into the edges of the compartments so, even if you are looking at it backwards, you know which is which. The baskets, designed to fit each side perfectly, extend all the way down to the bottom; you can lift out the entire contents of a side just by picking up the basket. This is fantastic! I wound up having to move my chair to the left of my side table to position the freezer with its LED screen and plug facing outward because I couldn't get the door direction reversed. The door is supposed to be reversible, but either there is a trick I couldn't figure out or I just didn't have the strength to pop the door off. (This actually turned out better than the way I had things before, so I like that I had to do it.) Out of the box, the plug and controls are on the right. Be aware that this fridge/freezer is going to be heavy if you've got much in it. Empty, I could lift it by myself (I'm 73 and under 5'), but it was still a bit heavy. That's because it's stainless and thickly insulated and the baskets inside are metal coated with plastic. Fortunately, it has very strong fold-out handles on the side, and two people should have no trouble carrying it when full. Note also that it's not super quiet. It constantly sounds like a relatively quiet dishwasher when plugged in. One feature I really like about this is the ability to snap in one of BougeRV's new 240w batteries (ASIN B0GHQ54JGF). I don't have a battery to test because it wasn't included, but the battery fits into a compartment in the side so it doesn't add any width. (An older portable chest freezer model I received from BougeRV had a battery that stuck out from the side when in use.) Based on my testing, this fridge/freezer would not run 24 hours on the battery alone (you'd need several), but because the battery can be 2-hour fast-charged four different ways (AC or Car Charging when installed, Type C or Solar either inside or outside the fridge), there's really no reason to fear running out of juice on an extended outing. ... show more

  • No more worrying about Ice Melt!!!
Size: 41 Quart
BougeRV makes some amazing products for outdoor living. This portable refrigerator is just one of them. It has dual zones for fridge and freezer that can be alternated or used as just one or the other. The battery is separate, but worth the investment to get the most out of the fridge/freezer. The handles are very sturdy and have a spring on them that snaps them back down when not in use. So that will prevent them from getting busted because someone was careless. It fits in the back of any trunk or truck bed with ease and has many ways of running the power. You can plug it in directly to a wall outlet, install the battery and run it from that, or you can use solar to power it. If using solar, you have to have the battery also since it charges the battery as well when using solar. It freezes item quickly, especially if using the max mode. It also keeps item frozen when in the Eco mode. That allows you to get the most use out of the battery. It sits well and is heavy enough to stay where you put it but also light enough to move it around if needed. The ability to use it as a fridge or a freezer or a combo is the best feature. It is truly versatile for camping or just as a way to keep cold drinks or food in your truck or car. ... show more

  • Incredibly efficient!
Size: 41 Quart
I'm so impressed with this cooler! I recently bought a less expensive version by the same brand and while I love it, it doesn't even compare to the quality of this version. There are lights inside which I absolutely love, and it's incredibly efficient. Now, to be fair it was relatively cool and mild temps while I was camping, the numbers will definitely change when it's warmer. The night before camping I prechilled the cooler on max. While empty it went from house temperature to 34 degrees on one side and 0 on the other in less than 30 minutes. Unfortunately because the cooler is split in half and I didn't need much freezer room, I nixed the freezer idea and instead ran the entire unit at 34 degrees as a fridge. That honestly is the only problem I've found iwth this cooler, you have two 20qt sides and that makes for a very little area for both fridge and freezer. However, we camped for 3 nights and it used less than 300wh. When the compressor is running, it pulls 4 watts according to my solar bank. The build quality is impressive. I love the sturdy hinges and latch. I appreciate that the door is reversible. Oh, and the app made it so I could double check the temperature from my tent when I was getting ready for bed. It is an investment, but for the price there are so many great features and I highly recommend it! ... show more

  • 10 stars. BougeRV keeps knocking their gear out of the ballpark.
Size: 41 Quart
I’ve owned coolers. I’ve dealt with soggy food, melted ice, digging through slush for butter, and constantly buying bags of ice on road trips. This is such a huge upgrade. I was honestly blown away once I got my hands on it. The layout is incredibly well thought out. The removable divider setup is smart, the baskets make organization easy, and the dual-zone functionality is genuinely useful instead of feeling gimmicky. Being able to keep drinks cold while freezing meat or ice packs at the same time is fantastic. The app control is also way more polished than I expected. Quick connection, easy controls, and nice being able to monitor temps from inside the tent or camper. What really impressed me though is how integrated the whole ecosystem feels. Since getting this, I added the BougeRV battery and solar panel setup, and I’m taking the full system out camping this weekend. The detachable battery design with the pogo pin connection is honestly brilliant. No spaghetti mess of cables everywhere. The build quality feels substantial too. Lid seals nicely, handles feel sturdy, and the compressor kicks on without sounding obnoxious. For overlanding, camping, van life, boat trips, or even just keeping groceries cold during summer errands, I can already tell this is going to get used constantly. It’s pricey, yes. But fairly priced for the category. This is one of those pieces of gear where you immediately understand where the money went once you start using it. ... show more
