I searched for a while trying to figure out what kind of kayak to get. When I saw the Deus Aero, I first thought inflating it would be a chore. It is really not too bad. We got a attachment that fits on our electric air pump and it inflates very easy. When we deflated it, a friend had a electric pump that also deflated it. (I will be investing in one). I deflated it before with hand pump and that took a bit of time… but overall it is not bad. I took it out on a calm morning and it glides like a champ. The wind picked up a bit later in the day but it handled it well. I notice that compared to other non inflatable kayaks, the wind is less forgiving, but I do not plan to go out on real windy days. The seat is AWESOME! I have some lower back issues and this seat supports wonderfully! I also used it as a SUP and It was very supportive under my feet. The kayak is stable and very easy to get in and out of. The straps on the front held my dry storage bag and when I tumbled over everything but me stayed in! I also had a small ice chest in the back that didn’t go in either. Next time I will bungee cord it in. There are plenty of hooks that will allow you to secure your gear. The BOTE DEUS Kayak/paddle board exceeded my expectations in every way. The quality and sturdiness of this Kayak is amazing! I purchased this in hopes that my dog and I would feel comfortable and safe kayaking in the ocean Breachway and salt pond with currents and tides. It preformed very stable and I am seated high and comfortable. My dog loves the kayak and seems to feel safe because of the high sides at the bow. The quality of this BOTE is unlike anything I have ever seen in a inflatable kayak. The underside looks like an actual boat! ( BOTE!). Sturdy bow reinforcement and underside rail for rocks, etc. The floor panel is a non-slip quality surface that I doubt my dog could ever puncture. I will fish from this BOTE Kayak too without to much worry. It’s lightweight to carry but a little cumbersome as I am only 5’5 so I will purchase a kayak wheel transport. A taller person will have no problem carrying Kayak with a shoulder strap. Customer service was absolutely spot on and answered my questions immediately. Shipped and delivered as promised in very secure packaging. I took the advice from another review to photo the unpacking from the quality carry case (which has wheels), because some said they had problems re-folding the Kayak to fit. I have not deflated yet but don’t perceive a problem. Last note, everyone at the campground inquired about this BOTE and were amazed it was inflatable. I purchased the wood grained with white and aqua green. It is absolutely Beautiful! Best purchase from Amazon to date. Thank you BOTE!! ... show more

Been using the Deus for a few weeks now and it been a great experience. I got it mostly for fishing. Portability- awesome fits in trunk easily- it gets easier to fold up once you’ve used it for a while Durability- has been scraped by branches and rocks and still holding up great. Usability- being an inflatable it’s very easy to get moving. Wind will blow you around a lot. if you stand up you’ll turn into a sail boat. Get a small kayak anchor if you want to stay in one spot. It easy to stand up on this kayak. Very stable I’ve had zero worries about falling over. Overall I recommend it if you need something portable to be able and store/transport. But if you can get an normal kayak you’ll have a more enjoyable time ... show more

I bought this kayak for my boyfriend for Christmas but waited to leave a review until we had a chance to use it in a variety of conditions. We’ve used this kayak in several lakes as well as in the mangroves in the Everglades and the ocean down in the Keys. We actually enjoyed it so much we bought another to be able to go kayaking together. These are hands down the best inflatable kayaks out there. They track straight and glide through the water with little effort. I love having the option to be able to use them as paddle boards as well and they’re very stable. They are affected by the wind a bit more than a traditional kayak but not too bad unless it’s really windy. Initially I ordered a Lono (the longer one) but it was a little too big to fit under our motor home when packed up so I exchanged it for this one. Customer service was great and made the exchange easy. I was pretty skeptical of inflatable kayaks but I’ve been really impressed with these. ... show more

Very stable and comfortable. I bought this for my husband as a gift and he loves it. We have 4 kayaks but he is having a hard time on it because he has a bad back. With this kayak as if he is just sitting on a chair. He is able to paddle for longer time. He loves it.

Bote is super stable, seat is not so great in terms of comfort, pump that comes with it is good , I used electric – saves a lot of energy for high PSI. Too heavy for every weekend operations, also too heavy on the water – I expected much better speed. Heavier to row comparing to hard kayaks and inflatables. Folding is struggle even when you get it ( I’m fairly capable, but this process does not ‘spark joy’ as a recreational activity ) ... show more

    • It’s easy to inflate but difficult to pack up. It’s a real eye catcher.
Amazing boat. Easy to inflate with the pump that comes with the kayak. It inflates faster than I thought it would. Overall very easy to set up by yourself . One major drawback is the putting back into its travel case. Folding it onto the size necessary to fit is very challenging even after doing it for more than a half a dozen times. The one removable fin comes off on its own too easily. I haven’t caught any fish in it yet, nor have I tried to stand up in it.. My dog doesn’t seem to be bothered by sitting in it in his life jacket. All and all I’m really happy with it and the cooler is absolutely incredible with keeping stuff cold. There’s only one thing I wished I would of spent the extra dollars and got the one with the foot paddles. I really kick myself for not thinking it through more because it is impossible to row and fish at the same time but with the foot pedals you could. So take it from me , if you can afford to get the one with the pedals , do it, I still love this one . ... show more
