Previously my primary camera bag is Lowepro shoulder bag. As I get more and more lenses, I had two problems with the shoulder bag: comfort and capacity. I can put one body (Sony a7II) and three lenses into the bag and my water bottle on the side, but it's heavy. I have to switch shoulder once in a while. Also, there's no place for a jacket even when I carry only one body and one lens. In the past I once had a Tamrac Expedition 7x, but it was uncomfortable for me. Also I found having to take the backpack off my shoulders and place it on the ground before I can get anything out of it is more inconvenient than I would like. I did not keep the Tamrac for these reasons and this experience made me cautious on camera backpacks. At last, I realized I really need a backpack so I started searching. I decided on this backpack because it allows me to access my camera using the Flipside design and it has a compartment for non-camera stuff. To me this is the perfect hybrid between Flipside and Photo Hatchback. I also like its look. I went on a three-day trip with this bag and I love it! There's why. - It holds basically everything I need. I went on the trip with one Sony a7II and four lenses (including two small primes, no huge zooms like 70-2000) in the lower compartment and clothes, chargers and miscellaneous in the upper compartment. I also have my water bottle and umbrella in one stretch-mesh pouch on the side and my tripod on the other side. There are also belts on the front side to hold more stuff if needed. - The Flipside design. I find it very convenient. It's of course not as fast as opening a shoulder bag, but it's close enough for me. Just buckle up and swing. In a few seconds I can get my camera out or change lens. The backpack also acts as a lens changing table when there's no such surface around.It also keeps my camera and lenses very safe. No one will be able to steal them when the backpack is on my shoulders. - Comfort. I walk around this backpack and my stuff all day and I don't feel any pain on my shoulders or neck. - Build quality. The backpack is well made. The fabric is water-resistant (though the zippers are not) and water beads up on it. In light rain I am confident without the AW rain cover. All the adjustable straps also come with stretchable rings to hold the loose end in place. Of course, it's not perfect. It has a few things that I wish would be improved, but none is a major issue. - The zippers are not waterproof. It's not really a problem with the front ones since it comes with AW cover. But the main camera compartment zipper is not. In very heavy rain, it's possible that rain water will flow down along my back and get to the camera compartment. I am ok with this since I probably won't be outdoors in such heavy rain, but I wish I can have that confidence. - It has a small bottom and tends to fall over. I wish it would stand steadily when I put it with its bottom on the ground. I need to find a wall or something for it to lean on. - The handle is thin. It looks sturdy enough that I won't worry about it breaking apart, but it's not padded like Flipside 400 AW II. - It does not hold a laptop. There's a pocket for an iPad. Maybe a 12 inch Macbook can fit in, but it's in the front which makes carrying the weight less comfortable and also less secure. To sum up, I love this backpack. I think it will replace my shoulder bag for most occasions. I would totally recommend it for travelling and walking around the city.

I Purchased this pack primarily for day hiking in the mountains and for travel with my mirrorless Fuji XT-3 camera system. It is spacious enough for personal items like your lunch and a jacket but also carries the photography essentials like a tripod and multiple lenses. It looks more like a hiking pack than a designated camera bag which is one of the features I really liked-makes it a little less obvious when traveling! It comes with a very nice rain cover that I haven’t had to use yet and it slips into its own pocket at the top. I especially like the lumbar panel access because it’s safer for travel and also allows you to set the bag down on not so clean services without dirtying the straps or the camera access compartment. The bag is very durable and seems well-made. I’ve taken it on several hikes so far and it still looks new. It’s very comfortable and has Really nice material, stitching and details. The padding is quite ample and Lowepro gives you lots of dividers. Two of the dividers have split pockets for things like batteries and memory cards. It’s a very well thought out and well designed bag and a good value for the money. Very pleased!

I bought this for two reasons; I wanted a new pack for a week-long photography trip in New Mexico, and I"m always looking for the "perfect" photo pack. As soon as it arrived it struck me as being smaller than expected. It's always hard to judge the size of items floating on a white background. I figured a 350 would be bigger. But, for shorter trips, like a day or weekend, with specific aims, it's a great pack. I was able to get two Rebel bodies, one with a Canon 100-400, and one with a kit lens, and a third small lens in the main compartment. I had to strap my 100mm prime macro on the outside in its Lowepro case. Inside I could fit batteries, chargers, filters, snacks, a hat and gloves, and headlamp. Wearing the pack, even fully loaded, is comfortable for longer hikes. The access panel being against you back seems odd, if you've used a lot of backpacks, but believe me, if you are one who takes photos of landscapes or wildlife, and need to put the pack down and change lenses, or whatever, at least when you put the pack back on the dirty part won't be going against your back. We spent two hours in a blind, and this area had some pretty nasty "stickers" that stuck to everything, but with the pack laid down, they didn't get into the straps or back pad of the pack. It's a sharp-looking pack too. Clean lines, nice color combo.The camera compartment is bright and easy it's easy to see black cameras and accessories. Some dividers even have little velcro pockets for small items. If I could, I'd give a 4.5 stars because of how small it was, but that's not Lowepro's fault. I'd also like for there to be a lash point for a full-sized tripod, but also not a deal-breaker. Not many packs handle tripods well. It does fit a monopod in the water bottle pocket pretty well. All in all, a pretty cool day or weekend pack. Not perfect, but pretty cool.

I've been using this bag for a little over 6 months and it's a good bag, but if they made a few improvements it would be perfect. It's a little on the heavy side (3lbs), but not terrible and it's a nice, solid bag. I have used it frequently for hiking and for travel by car and plane and the exterior still looks great. The top compartment is a nice size for smaller accessories. I also really like that it has the waist belt for relieving pressure on the shoulders and for access without having to take the bag off--this is a hard feature to find on a camera pack. Here are the issues I have with it: -The shape of the backpack: It is tapered at the top and the bottom causing it to give up valuable internal space in both the camera compartment and in the front pocket (the area to put non-camera gear). -Because the camera compartment is tapered, it makes it hard to pack larger lenses. -The front pocket just needs to be bigger in every dimension. It's so tight that it holds very little and you can't look down into it--you have to feel around with your hands for your stuff. My tablet is 11" and will not fit in the pocket which is a problem when traveling by plane and this is my carryon bag. -The back pack straps are not adjustable at the top as a good quality day pack should be. The only adjustment is at the bottom. The tops of the straps are sewn to the bag and are uncomfortably narrow so they rub my neck (and I have a pretty thin neck). This bag would not fit most men I know comfortably in the neck and shoulder area. I know there is a next size up in this line of bags, but that bag is just too big and heavy for my purposes. If Lowepro took away the tapered shape, made the front pocket roomier, and made the backpack straps adjustable and wider at the top, this would be an A+ bag. For now, I am looking into alternative options for carrying my gear in a day pack, especially for trips that involve air travel.

I thought this could be my all-in-one light hiking and photography bag. The Trek BP 350 has plenty of space for micro 4/3 photo equipment and a reasonable amount of room for snacks, sunscreen, and other supplies for a day out with the family. I loved the size and most of the layout of the bag, and it felt more outdoorsy than camera baggy as an added bonus. The main reason I ended up returning this was the side pockets. Their design is flawed in my opinion, as the bottom 2 inches don't have enough give to put water bottles in. Placing the bottles in as deeply as possible was still not enough to secure them, they readily slid out. And I should note these were 16 oz and 20 oz bottles about the diameter of a soda can, nothing outrageous. What's really baffling is that the smaller Trek BP 250, which I ordered to also consider... does not have this problem! Other areas that I could have lived with, but are worth mentioning in case they are dealbreakers for anyone else are: The front pocket has a significant hump where the structure dividing the camera and top compartments is. Not ideal if hoping to store something tall and flat in there (book, tablet?). The waist straps are very chunky and won't tuck away well behind you if you don't want them. As stated in the description (or maybe it was other reviews), they are not removable. The back access didn't seem very practical once gear was adding weight to the waist straps. I would expect to be taking this off to get or change the camera.

While I already have several camera bags for specific purposes, I purchased the Flipside Trek 350 specifically for day hikes and long-haul international travel. A lot of analysis went into this process: I wanted a bag that could fit my Canon 80D, 2-3 prime/zoom lenses, a lightweight tripod, and small camera accessories...still have room for snacks/sandwich, sweater and a few random items...be weather-resistant...comfortable to carry for hours...relatively compact/not bulky...and keep my camera safe from "sticky fingers" while navigating dense tourist traps. I'm happy to report that the bag achieves all of those needs. What I liked: - Neutral color vs. extremely bright colors like other bags in the market - Comfortable shoulder straps (I was able to attach the Peak Design Capture Clip to one of the straps so I could clip on my camera in between shots without putting camera back into the bag) - Even though it seems big, it actually has a very sleek and slim profile...was able to slide it under airline seats on both domestic and international travel - Even after loading it up it's actually comfortable to carry - Camera compartment can only be accessed through the back panel so a good theft-deterrent - Spacious compartments, lots of divider panels to customize your configuration, external straps for holding sweaters What I didn't like: - Tablet pocket is too small...it assumes you will put an iPad with no protective gear (who does that when you're trekking?); with my shell and keyboard combo it was too large - The side panels were too small/tight to fit a 32oz Nalgene bottle (at least without fear of over stretching the material) - The whole idea of taking out stuff by rotating the back to your front while the waistbelt still attached - they made it look easier in the video than it actually is! Depending on your clothing and body size, it won't be as seamless. Overall, the positives significantly outweigh the negatives. Really really love it and will continue to use!

I bought this specifically for a European trip, where it would be my sole backpack, plus a carry-on roller bag. It’s the 350 model. I fit in: a Canon 70D with bulky kit lens, 18-135, with strap wrapped around the lens; wide angle 10-18; telephoto 15-250; 1 Canon 430 Speedlite; and a cloth bag of cleaning stuff. That all fits in the camera section, which opens from the “back” - you must either take off the pack or “flip” it: there’s no other access. A full-frame DSLR might be a very tight fit, but the bag accommodates my crop frame gear. And the limited access is a security plus. I really like the roomy, separate top pouches. In the main pouch, I pack my filter system, a small case with batteries and other sundry photo accessories, and a couple of small bags of personal items. The smaller pocket in front holds an iPad and a large snglasses case and a small notebook. Probably no room for a laptop! Note that there are no other external pockets, except for one on the belt strap. However, I feel this makes it more difficult for people to open pockets while on your back. (I have safety clips on the zippers when I’m in a crowd). I’ve only used the flip-around feature a few times, to change lenses in the field, and it worked fine. If you were wearing a heavy jacket, it wouldn’t be so easy. I like the size, the adjustability of the straps when you put it on; the side and back straps for water bottle, tripod, walking stick or whatever. It’s comfortable, easy to adjust the belt and shoulder straps to distribute the weight. I’m picky, but this one has served me well over the two months of use.

It’s super hard to find a camera bag that can hold other things. This bag holds cameras safely and securely but also holds other items. We went clamming and my kids got hot so they took their rain jackets off and I rolled them up and put them in the big front pouch. It holds my Fuji xt20, kit lens, rokinon 12mm, Fuji x70, filters and a lens cleaning case as well as batteries and two wall chargers. I like the two camera case dividers that have Velcro pockets. I store my batteries in those. I like the waist strap. It’s thick and durable and sits on my hips to allow the shoulder straps to just gently touch my shoulders. Typically my shoulders get really tired from carrying a backpack but 3 hours of clamming and my shoulders were fine! I’m 5’8”, 140 lbs. I like how I just take the shoulder straps off and spin the camera bag around my waist to get access to my camera. Easy and convenient and I don’t have to worry about setting my bag on the dirty ground. I’m not sure if there is anything I would change about the backpack. Maybe offer different colors, but the green color is subtle and pleasant.
