This fireplace has many configurations of flame color, flame speed, flame brightness, backlighting brightness, crystal bed colors, and crystal bed brightness. Very nice looking unit and easy to install. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 be stars is because I can hear a slight hum of noise from the small electric motor inside the fireplace that gives the flame simulation. I can only hear the slight noise when the flames are on without the heater blower. I returned the first fireplace I purchased because the noise was louder than this one. The motor noise on this unit is very slight. This fireplace's heater had two settings and can put out a considerable amount of heat. It would have been nice if the heater had a thermostat to maintain a certain temperature but it doesn't. Overall, I am happy with this fireplace and would recommend it. ... show more

Updated Review: very satisfied. The seller was quick to respond and replace the fireplace that was damaged and send a new remote. We love the look of this with our new media wall the flame speed, flame colors, and heat option are all great features. Good quality and it was worth the wait! I’m disappointed with this fireplace. We built and addition and just got to the media wall to install the fireplace. The fireplace is bowed in the middle and the remote won’t work after trying several new packs of batteries. I’m going to call the manufacturer as it’s past the time to return it or I would be returning it. Hopefully they will stand behind their product. Is they make it right I will post an updated review. You can see in the photo how far out from the wall it is in the middle. ... show more

    • Update - Loved it at first...

The one we have makes noise. I'd say they all make a breathing noise, and I'm not talking about the fan for the heater, I'm talking about the mechanism that produces the flames. The noise is kind of a grinding / rattling sound, and it didn't start right away. Maybe 48 hours of use in. It then went a away for a while, but now it is back. Not a loud as before, but still... Outside of that, for the price, it looks good and was very easy to install. I will note that the two screws you have to remove to get the glass off are a bit hard to access. Unfortunately I built my cabinet around this unit, so if I have to go to a different manufacturers model I have concerns about recess box size... We'll see. UPDATE: The unit we have makes such a loud noise now the it is unusable. The remote also stopped working. The units touch interface still works, but what's the point because the unit is now too loud to use. The customer service appears to be ok at first. Now, I'm just in a perpetual loop of sending video files to weird email address and a persistent request for my information. I'm beginning to wonder if this seller is just out here collecting information to sell or something... Oh, they also made the "motor option" as well. I'm sorry, it's just not ok. Don't expect to be able to return the item either, it doesn't fall under the normal Amazon return policy. So, what I need is a new unit, and no more run around. ... show more
