Description

The SoundTouch 300 soundbar delivers clear, spacious sound. Every cubic inch of this speaker is packed with technologies that bring your music and movies to life. It starts inside with custom shaped speakers that keep the profile low and pump out big sound. Quiet Port technology virtually eliminates distortion so you hear surprisingly deep bass. ADAPTiQ audio room calibration ensures the soundbar sounds the best it can in the space you put it, while PhaseGuide technology makes you believe you're hearing sounds where there are no speakers. On the outside, the glass top and perforated wrap around metal grille make the soundbar look as good in your room as it sounds. Bluetooth and Wi Fi technology are built in, so you can wirelessly stream music any way you prefer, while NFC provides quick and easy pairing. The SoundTouch app gives you simple control over your favorites. And the SoundTouch 300 soundbar works together with other SoundTouch speakers, like a family. You can start with the SoundTouch 300 and add other SoundTouch speakers when you are ready. And while the SoundTouch 300 soundbar sounds great by itself, you can add the Acoustimass 300 wireless bass module and/or Virtually Invisible 300 wireless surround speakers at anytime to get even more performance and a full 5.1 experience. Place the soundbar on a table below your TV, or save even more space by using the optional wall bracket. It's all run by a universal remote, so you can control your other devices, too. Enjoy hands free voice access to your music on SoundTouch speakers using any Alexa enabled device—like the Amazon Echo Dot. Just open the Alexa app. Search for “Bose” under the Skills menu. Top Amazon Reviews

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Long-Term Verdict: We Have a Winner
This is a long-term product review; purchased this soundbar and wall-mounting kit ( Wall Bracket for Bose WB-300 SoundTouch 300 Soundbar Speaker,Black )on Amazon 18 months ago. Build is solid - this is a hefty piece of kit. The finish is top quality, with a piano gloss finish on top that unfortunately attracts and shows dust. There are no buttons on the unit, and a few indicator lights are found on the front grill. Setup is intuitive, but be sure that your TV has HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). This ensure the soundbar will wake up when you turn on the TV. Mounting kit comes with a paper template to ensure your pilot holes are level and spaced evenly. Once mounted, you'll want to run the optional sound check with the included wired headset. This entails plugging the headset in to the back of the soundbar while it is mounted. If you have small fingers, no problem. If you have large fingers, plug in the headset before securing the soundbar to the wall mount, run the sound check, and then take off of the wall mount and remove the headset plug before final installation. Not hard. The sound check consists of wearing a plastic headset and moving to different listening points in the room after you launch the setup. The soundbar makes a series of futuristic patterns at various frequencies. It supposedly optimizes output directionally, customized to your room. In practice, the thing sounds great at most points in our living room but I'm not sure if this is a function of the room shape (basically, one big box), or the optimized sound patterns. Either way, it's two minutes of your life so just do it and move on. Audio from the soundbar is clean, and dialogue is crisp. Most will be happy with the sound, which is very natural and not too bright. This is not going to please those who need a vacuum tube amplifier, line conditioners, and $10k speakers, in order to function. It's a good soundbar with a clean appearance and ease of use which will please 95% of folks who need more than the pathetic speakers that come with most TVs. The SoundTouch 300 does get very loud without distortion, if that's your thing. For those who care, it supports Dolby Digital and DTS for external audio formats. No Dolby Atmos (yet?). While there is decent low-frequency response, don't expect world-beating bass. The accompanying Bose Acoustimass 300 Wireless Bass Module - Black (which I did purchase) will fill in the low-end nicely, if your budget allows. That is the only bass module/sub that works with the SoundTouch 300, and it does crank. I'm not sure if the soundbar adjusts its lowest-frequency response when the bass module is attached (i.e., let the bass module handle most of the low-end work so the soundbar can do the mid- and high-range better), but that would make sense. Dialogue mode (which can be set as the default) is accessible via a button on the included universal remote control. This makes a significant difference at night, or if you're watching talk-heavy programming. An indicator light on the front turns green, when Dialogue mode is on. The Bose SoundTouch app is intuitive, and allows you to play most streaming services with the exception of Apple Music (you do need to connect to your wireless network for this to work). While Bose has stated that SoundTouch speakers will support Airplay 2, it remains to be seen if the statement applies to existing or new models. There's always Bluetooth, if you need to stream directly from a device. Multi-room play is controlled via the app, and there are six preset buttons on the remote. For those who wish to stream from a local PC or NAS, that capability also exists if a music server is installed on the local device. There is a rear speaker kit ( Bose Virtually Invisible 300 Wireless Surround Speakers (Pair, Black) ) available for 5.1 or 3.1 sound, but based on my research it doesn't seem necessary/worth it. To summarize, this is a solid soundbar that is easy to use, and looks/sounds great. One star off for not supporting Apple Music, but if you're not in that ecosystem it is full marks. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Solid sound bar system
-Bose Brand Name - Powerful- this thing gets very loud in my opinion, I have been keeping it at 50-75% and thats more than loud enough for movies and music filling a good size room. I was surprised at this considering it's not your typical AVR amp that was like a space heater in the TV cabinet. Somehow they get plenty of power out to the unit. - Clear dialogue, easy to understand, a big improvement from the TV speakers. They do have bass ports on the back of the sound bar, and I felt the sound was very good for movies before I even connected the sub. I'll get to that later. - Surround effect is ok, you can hear sounds bouncing off the walls as they say, but it's not a true 5.1 or 7.1 system obviously. I didn't buy this for the simulated surround, it sounds good enough to me but there aren't going to be any speakers behind you, so it's hard to simulate that. - Subwoofer, or acoustimass 300 is a nice addition, but to be honest I'm more impressed with the sound bar itself than the sub. The sub is strong, but it comes and goes with music and certain scenes in movies etc. It adds to the system nicely, but I just don't see the price being equal to the sound bar. I need more time listening to it to really review this- so I'll update the review at a later time. - Soundtouch app is fine, but I found I can bluetooth connect to the sound bar and play music from my iPhone without going through the app (though I used the sound touch app to pair the phone with the unit, so I guess I partially used it for this! The unit did update the firmware once I connected to the wifi, so that's a good thing. - Music is really impressive to me on this system- I have been streaming music for a few days now, and it really is a great sounding system. Power wise, I keep the volume at 50% or less, and it's plenty loud and clear. - Bose offers the rear speakers as a $299 ad on, but they are running a promo where they can be had cheaper for a moment, but I don't see adding them. I like the simplicity of this system. The sub even connects wirelessly, so theres minimal wires which after my big 7.1 system I had is a relief. - Build quality is solid as expected- the unit's have good weight to them- the low profile of the sound bar means it can sit in front of the screen and not interfere with viewing which was a concern I had with larger sound bars as I wanted to place it on the stand in front of the tv at the same level. - I managed to connect it via HDMI ARC, which is the "preferred" way Bose says to connect it- but only newer/some TVs have that option apparently, and the optical audio out to the sound bar was the other option. Both HDMI and optical cables were included, as were power cables. -Shipping was fast with prime- the products ship in their original boxes, so no amazon box at all. - Overall I really like it so far- very solid choice for a 3.1 home theatre if you add the sub, and maybe the surround speakers. I can't see going back to the big 7.1 system from the simplicity of this. ... show more
