Exceptional. I have always liked the quality of Bose speakers, but never could really afford them. But I made up my mind and have not been disappointed. The sound quality is excellent (as expected), the bluetooth connection is convienient, and the Bose App provides more options. Just be sure to connect the soundbar and app to the same WiFi. If your phone disconnects from the "Home" WiFi you will have to re-establish that connection before controlling the soundbar with the app. ... show more

    • Quick Setup & Nice Clear Sound
I wanted to replace an old Sony surround sound system with a single sound bar and without the need of a subwoofer setting on the floor as we are trying to minimize. I don’t need the house to rattle but I do want to hear some nice low frequency effects. The Bose is exactly what I wanted. The low end is there where most other sound bars seem to lack low end. The setup was very quick and easy and after a firmware update was ready to go. The phone app is nice and even at half volume is already louder than my old Sony system was maxed out. There is a dialogue feature in the app to help voices stand out when watching dialogue driven shows. We also watch a lot of British mysteries and it’s easier to hear heavier accents clearly. It’s also nice that should I decide one day that I felt I needed a subwoofer the system is expandable. It’s Alexa enabled which is nice for asking quick questions. The only “con” I have noticed is that if I pause or sit on my Roku menu for over 20 minutes the bar does tend to fall asleep and I have to hit the power button again on the remote to wake it up. Not a big deal but it doesn’t seem to detect that there is still a signal coming from the optical cable as we have an older TV that doesn’t have HDMI Arc which I have heard doesn’t have this issue. We LOVE this Bose system and have used it for years. We have the surround speakers, the base unit and all mounts and cord hiding accessories. This makes watching tv and movies a high quality experience. The unit is very low profile with a big sound. Incredible.

Have a 8 year old Sony Bravia TV and till a guest came by and mentioned the sound seemed poor -didn't realize what I was missing. I bought this product as I like how low profile it is and it connects via HDMI (see attached pictures) However some tips that may help others - setting up was frustrating, the guide is next to useless. You have to download the Bose Music app to get the full functionality - however maddeningly, the product would not activate on the app. After googling and finally troubleshooting myself (Im in IT Support) - discovered that my FIOS router firewall, set to High - was also blocking outbound traffic. Once I set it to medium - the activation completed as the soundbar was able to connect to Bose's servers and it also downloaded a firewall update. Next issue - no sound from HDMI connection. I finally switched the cable to a different HDMI port on the TV (on the bottom instead of the side) and sound worked. Some points a) As a Vine reviewer noted here - go the app, audio settings and turn on Dialogue Mode. You will see a difference with hearing sounds from your TV b) I couldnt find any recommended settings for center channel, bass and treble - finally set it to 30 center, 20 bass and 30 treble. I live in a studio apartment so feel free to tweak as needed. I initially set it to 50/50/40 and my ears actually hurt - the soundbar is more powerful that it looks. c) You can use the Bose app to directly stream from your Iphone to the soundbar if needed and control the volume from your phone. I use it just for my TV mainly - didnt set up Alexa on the device d) The remote is pretty much useless as my FIOS TV remote, Amazon firestick remote can control the volume without any changes. I removed the battery before storing the remote - to remove the battery turn the notch on the back quarter way anti-clockwise with your fingernail.     • Very nice sound bar for the money.
After trying out a Bose sound bar and failing to get it work properly (extremely poor instructions) I decided to purchase a sound bar made by the same company as my new TV (LG). It installed promptly except for the separate bass unit...which did not want to cooperate at first. (Poor instructions again. The wed sit referred to in the instructions is pitiful. Its best to try and find a utube example and following those instructions. Its amazing to me that a very large company would issue such terrible installation instructions.) In defense of LG, the sound bar installed almost by itself. The bass unit finally installed after I started over. The remote control received a poor grade for the same reasons as mentioned above...poor instructions. It did pair with my LG TV remote automatically and I like that feature. The sound bar works really well. If you consider yourself an audiophile you probably don't want this sound bar. But its perfect for me...so far. I don't use the Alexa integration so did not score that feature. ... show more
