1 year ago I purchased some generic, noise cancelling earbuds for a long-haul flight (the kind with the wire, not bluetooth). They advertised comfortable memory phone, excellent sound and were only $30, so I figured it was worth a try - BOY WAS I WRONG! Even with the volume turned up, I could barely hear what I was watching, over the airplane noises and also they were indescribably uncomfortable. Fast forward 1 year, we had another long-haul flight trip planned and there was NO WAY I was using those ear buds again. I figured I would try out these Bose ones (bought 2 pairs, one for myself and one for my husband), worse case scenario is I don't like them either and can return them. I AM SO GLAD I SPLURGED AND BOUGHT THESE!!! They are very easy to pack in a carryon bag and come with a nice, slim profile carrying case. The ear coverings are like clouds surrounding your ears - so soft and comfortable, even after a 10 hour flight! The noise cancelling is insanely good - there was a baby crying 5 rows behind us and I didn't even notice until I took my headphones off to speak to the flight attendant. The sound quality is crystal clear (at least for the movies and netflix shows I had downloaded). I noticed that the noise cancelling works better when using bluetooth instead of the included cord, but I'm a-ok with that! I could not possibly give these headphones a higher recommendation. I am very picky when it come to headphones but these are really comfortable and they don’t give me headaches. I have a lot of ear piercings but the headphones are big enough that they don’t get agitated while wearing them, but the headphones still look sleek and cool. The noise cancellation is good, comparable to AirPods pro except maybe a bit better. The audio quality is a little bit less nice than with AirPods Pro but its not bad by any means. (I use +10 bass, -1 mid, +treble). The white color is really nice because it’s off white while not being too cream colored. I use a digital softphone for work and the headphones work perfectly when paired to my laptop, and the customers can hear me very clearly through the headphones mic. I really like these headphones, they are refurbished (for $100 cheaper) but they look and preform as exactly brand new. ... show more

Complaints: Biggest flaw is you cannot just turn off the noise canceling. There’s either “quiet” mode that blocks sound or “aware” mode that transmits sound as if you were wearing no headphones. Bose needs to include an “noise cancel off” mode that just acts like regular headphones and saves battery. You also can’t use them while they’re charging and can’t send audio through a USB C connection. I can’t imagine why Bose forgot to include those obvious features. Also they’re expensive for a pair of headphones. Comfort: Comfort is good, especially for people like me with big heads. They don’t press too hard against my ears or against the top of my head. If your head is on the petite side they might feel a little loose. Noise canceling: Noise canceling works well against constant droning sounds like engines. Unfortunately it’s not nearly as effective against human speech. I bought these over noise canceling earbuds because I can wear ordinary earplugs underneath these. I have tested that combination in a noisy environment and it really works well. Audio quality: Lots of online reviews complain about the audio quality. Yes, they can sound less than perfect, especially on songs that weren’t mixed all that well in the first place. They do well on voice calls. For me, that’s acceptable for general-purpose headphones. In my music studio I have professional quality headphones with vastly better sound, but they’re bigger, they don’t cancel noise or work on Bluetooth or take phone calls. Comparing the Bose headphones to professional “cans” is like comparing a minivan to a sports car. They’re just designed to be good at different things. ... show more

Best headphones Ive ever had. The fit is comfortable and the battery life is really decent. Only takes 5-10 minutes to charge to 100%. Noise canceling feature is great. I wear these both for studying and when Im at the gym. No regrets, def recommend
