  • Pure quality with great sound and comfort of wearing these head phones.
The QC3 Bose noise cancellation head phones were a gift back in 2013. And never had a issue or problem with them until the padding around the ear portion started to chaff and peel. Happened to be at the Mall of America and notice an (BOSE) store and stopped in to inquire about replacement ear pads. The sales person took a look and went on about trying to find out on their web-site if anything was available. With them being old and dis-continued from production. Please keep in mind that she referenced several times how well I had taken care of my head phones. Offered to take them in on a replacement program of $100.00 Basically defective replacement credit. For the newer modal of BOSE noise cancelling series 700. Now the cost for these were $399.99 They are wire-less and blue tooth. Cover the entire ear. Great sounding tap the right side to answer calls or control the three different levels of noise cancellation. I have nothing bad or derogatory to say about these BOSE products. What I will say or share is this. I did not need to trade/replace my original QC3 head phones had I did my own research in regards to the replacement ear pads first. I know I would not be doing this review. Because Amazon of all places carried them at the cost of $10.00 dollars with free shipping. The moral of this review is this. I allowed myself to be indulged to thinking that my QC3 wonderful sounding head phones. Were not worthy of resisting one's soul purpose of replacing them with the newest and better model. Please keep in mind that after all was said and done got back home to Ohio. Started to search out of curiosity for those replacement ear pads for my previously owned QC3 BOSE head phones. Lord and behold found a pair of the exact ones given up. Slightly/gently used like new and wasted no time in purchasing then. Now I feel complete and comfortable having back what I shouldn't have gotten rid of. ... show more

  • Performance = superlative, Build quality = so, so.
Nice quality in cheap looking housing. The sound cancellation and audio quality from this QC3 is outstanding. Clip it on and switch on the power you will find yourself in near perfect stillness. Fantastic. This is my second QC3 having lost the first one to thieves. The quality of the build looks cheap and almost fragile. The included black audio cable that connects to your device is a tangled cheaply made mess. C'mmon BOSE, you can do better than this. And when you finally pack it up, the case does not include a way for you to neatly pack the audio cable and other accessories in their own compartments - so they don't easily fall off when you unzip the shipping cover. When your battery runs out of juice in the middle of your favorite track, you are out of luck. BOSE should have at least done customers the courtesy of including an extra battery that can be kept charged all the time. As it is now, you have to fork out over $50 to buy an original BOSE battery. Money, money, money. In fact, having owned a previous QC3, it seems to me as if the older one is of a better quality. I had the option of buying a Senheisser PXC 450, but what swayed me towards BOSE QC3 is the light weight. I completely agree with a previous reviewer. If you put another name on this product and try to sell it to buyers at this same price, I don't think it will awe or move people (or be recommended by them) in spite of its outstanding noise cancellation and audio quality performance. Even though I am not returning it, if I have to buy another noise cancellation headphone now, I will definitely not buy QC3 - the build quality IMO is sub par, BOSE want users to do them them the courtesy of informing their friends about QC3 (with the included BOSE courtesy cards in the shipping pack), yet they can not do us the simple courtesy of including a spare battery. Don't expect me to use the cards. I would have given this product a 1 or at most 2 stars, except that the sound quality is very good as characteristic of the BOSE brand. So I gave it 3 stars.. If you are shopping for a noise cancellation headphone. Consider other products. ... show more

  • Works as advertised. But...
Allow me to put your fears to rest in saying that yes, these are fan-freaking-tastic. You're able to hear so many things that you would normally miss with an ordinary pair of headphones. (example, Vince Guaraldi performing at the Grace Cathedral you can hear the clergy and the audience where you'd normally miss them. https://youtu.be/60Q583teB90 ) The noise canceling? Brilliant. Drastically cuts down on the roar of a jet engine so you can hear the person next to you better. Even works well while driving blocking out the rumble of tires on the road. (On that note, don't wear these while driving.) Even the case works wonderfully too, with a little pouch to put your phone or MP3 player in and having latches you can attach a strap to so you can easily access the headphones without having to dig through your carry on. So why four stars? One word: battery. Yes, it holds a charge for a ridiculous amount of time (went at least six months without touching them and still worked when I asked them to), but when it does die, you're suddenly denied the clarity that these provide. My recommendation? These work well as travel headphones. Something to take on a long journey to help you relax on the way to your destination. Use them at home or at work often and then you will become sad the times you have to take the battery out to charge it up. I'd say use another pair of headphones to listen to at home that doesn't require you to unplug. ... show more
