I finally found time to install these speakers for our back deck. Instructions were clear and installation is comparatively easy, thanks to Bose’s bracket system. It took a little over one hour to remove the old speakers and install the new The sound quality is excellent. These speakers replaced Realistic speakers from Radio Shack (remember them?) that were installed in 1984. The sound quality is almost identical. I was surprised and would look into other speakers as a cheaper alternative. My speakers are installed under a part of the deck that is covered, which provides protection. The Bose speakers seem more durable than the old ones. I expect these speakers to last decades. FYI, these speakers are wired to amplifier. I had a wiring system in place and was looking for wired speakers. Also, they must be installed at least seven feet apart. Overall, these speakers are expensive, high quality, and an excellent choice for outdoor music. ... show more

I bought these to replace some outdoor speakers that only lasted me one summer. These speakers are absolutely amazing. I have never been a Bose guy because the price has always been too steep for me to justify. I was looking for a product that would have some longevity because it takes a bit of work to route wire for outdoor speakers and make it look nice. I am not sure that I will buy any other brand again after hearing the depth and tone of these speakers. I have 7 acres and whether I’m on my pool deck relaxing or out in the field working, these speakers are clear and very impressive! I would recommend these to anyone that desires the quality of sound outside that you expect inside a home theater. 10/10! ... show more

You just can’t go wrong with Bose. They are not the least expensive, but you have to pay for quality and these provide that. I have several sets of speakers in the house and they are all Bose. The sound quality and range is amazing in all their products.

These speakers are fantastic a phones microphone does no justice for them. You need to hear them in person. I searched high and low for the perfect speakers for my space. It was a toss up between these and the Klipsch 650’s. Unfortunately the Klipsch were to large and bulky looking. So I went for the more elegant approach The Bose 251’s. Once outdoors in the correct location connected to the appropriate amplifier the fill the space beautifully and balanced. I have them running on the Bose SA-5 amplifier which provides more than enough power. Again I will say. Hearing them on video with a phones microphone does nothing for them. You must hear them in person in your space. You will not be disappointed. ... show more

It’s a great speaker. Installed a set on our patio. Mounted them horizontally without issue. Very clear, excellent mids and highs, great volume and sound. The bass is a little week for my liking so I will probably add an outdoor sub. If you like Bass these will score low on your expectations. The only other con is they are pretty large but most outdoor speakers are. The shape may not be ideal as there is an arch in them and they don’t lay flat. If you plan to point them inward they work great, if needing them to be flat it will be a prob. ... show more
