  • Worked in stone

Make sure to pair with a bit. Bosch makes variations of this for all rotary drills. This is meant for a sds plus. I had concern that it would catch on an uneven edge of stone, dull, or crack the stone as it was never specified for such use. It cut through it perfectly. I had to use some sds chisels to pop out the core so I could keep coring. I suspected this would do the job as it was similar to other bits I use at work; however, gambling on a pricey bit and house wall concerned me. Worked great! I placed the vent in a smaller stone as requested against my caution that it might rip it apart since it was so small. It did not; however it did free it from the wall. I secured the stone when installing the dryer vent. Could probably drill most stone shapes, sizes, and arrangements just fine just make sure you have no electric in the wall. ... show more

  • METRIC OR ENGLISH - That is the question???
Size: 17 In. Diameter Number of Items: 1
Nicely made part as are almost all Bosch products. However the lack of information on Amazon and my assumption that this is threaded 5/*'-11 is costing me several days while I wait for a core drill adapter that has English 5/*' - 11 threads. This Bosch part as well as the mating core drills are threaded M6-2. They cannot be used in other brands of core drills that use the U.S. standard 5/8" - 11 threads. Neither the Amazon web site nor the Bosch web site describe this specification. Come on guys get with it! ... show more

  • Five Stars
Size: 2-9/16 In. Diameter Number of Items: 1
Everything with this purchase was done very quickly. Additionally, this conc. drill bit cut thru a solid concrete wall approx. 8" thick extremely fast and easy. My only complaint is removing this core bit from the separate center drill bit assembly that is required to be used by the manufacturer since the core bit holes are blocked therefore the center bit has does not allow anything to go thru the core bit to assist in unscrewing it. There is no info on removal process to help advise how to do it easily. Otherwise, I would have given this 5 stars. ... show more

  • Affordable Holes
Size: 4-3/8 In. Diameter Number of Items: 1
I own several of the Bosch Speedcore bits in various sizes. I use these for installing dryer vents and PVC furnace vent piping. This 4 3/8" is a fairly large diameter bit to be driven by the typical SDS-Plus tool. As others have said, be patient. Go slowly and let the hammer drill do the work. Regularly chisel out and remove the chunks of "core" from the hole you're drilling before they can break off and bind your bit. And I recommend adding some Never-Seize compound to the threads of the pilot bit so you can disassemble it later. If your project involves drilling dozens of 4 3/8" holes in thick or reinforced concrete, then buy or rent a water-cooled coring rig instead. But for lighter-duty use, this bit does the trick at a great price. ... show more

  • Workhorse for rock, concrete, and cuts stucco like butter.
Size: 2-9/16 In. Diameter Number of Items: 1
I drilled post holes in rock on a hillside with this. It worked really well. Just keep it wet for best cutting and cleaning. Have a hose nearby to spray both on your substrate and into this bit to clean out the dust and buildup. Also works well on cured concrete and it really makes quick work of stucco. Do note that Bosch bits have a different thread for the shaft to bit connection than the import brands. So be sure to match this up with a Bosch SDS shank/shaft unless you really know your thread sizes. ... show more

  • Tougher than you would think
Size: 4-3/8 In. Diameter Number of Items: 1
Bought this for a friend putting in a new drain field. He needed to put 6 holes thru four inch reinforced concrete to put in the four inch lines ... and yes, this bit wasn't deep enough for that, so he buried it, took it out changed to a chisel point, took out that piece, then went in again ... it worked ... I mean, he worked, I watched, I mean, what are friends for. And it took a LOT less time than I would have guessed ... still haven't gotten it to let me unscrew the centering bit ... but hey, I am still amazed and pleased with the thing. ... show more
