Description

The Bosch GLL40-20G Self-Leveling Cross-Line Laser projects visible green laser lines, which are up to 2X brighter than standard red beams. The tool has a working range of up to 40 Ft. and offers reliable accuracy of +5/6 in. at 30 Ft. It features Bosch-exclusive VisiMax™ technology, which monitors tool temperature and power consumption to deliver the brightest line for the job, optimized energy efficiency and long-term tool reliability. The cross-line laser is also equipped with a Smart Pendulum System allowing for automatic self-leveling and indication of out-of-level condition, as well as pendulum lock for safe tool transport. The included MM 2 Flexible Mounting Device provides a rotating 360° neck for quick setup and simple fine-tuning allowing for the laser to be clamped onto virtually any surface from 1/2 In. to 2-1/4 In. thick. Laser Class II, laser output <5mW.

Used for finish carpentry-shelves, railings, trim, etc. Pretty accurate. About 1/16 off in eight feet. Doesn't lock in place so very sensitive to movement. Walking around the room causes the lines to bounce though it settles in place relatively quick. DEFINITELY get this if you are going to tile anything. Used it with my photo tripod and it made my tile job look professional. Absolutely a good buy. Green laser is clearly visible. I don't know if it really reaches 40 ft though, edges of the laser lines were fading with less distance, so take "40ft" with a grain of salt, but it work really well for our medium sized kitchen. ... show more

The horizontal beam doesn't shoot very wide at all & it fades/washes out really bad away from the center. I tried to use it on a 6' wide South facing French door in the afternoon. If I moved the unit close enough to see the horizontal beam in the sun then it was only about 3' wide. If I moved it back far enough to shoot 6' wide then I could only see it in the middle & couldn't see it at all toward the edges of the doorway which meant that I couldn't even do that simple job with it. This is supposed to be of the latests and greatest versions of green laser, visible at 40'. I can believe that if you are in a dark room. I used a bright white receiver and glasses and could not see it at 15' in a room that could not be darkened - but on a very cloudy stormy day. I could see it if I looked into it, but that is not the purpose. For years I have used and appreciated Bosch tools, but this one is on it's way back. ... show more
