Description

The Bosch GLL3-330CG 12V Max connected 360 degree green-beam three-plane leveling and alignment-line laser provides an all-in-one level and alignment solution for one-person job setup. The leveling laser generates three green- beam laser chalk lines in 360 degree laser planes – one horizontal and two vertical. With Bluetooth® connectivity, users can control the setup of the laser from across the room with their smart phone and the free Bosch Leveling Remote App. The laser offers dual power technology, employed the included Bosch 12V Max Lithium-ion battery for extended runtime, or with four AA alkaline batteries. The laser has a working range of up to 200 feet diameter, and with pulse mode the range extends up to 330 feet with the optional LR8 receiver. This laser features VisiMax™ Technology to drive maximum line visibility, CAL Guard for calibration assurance and robust over-molded construction to withstand rainy or dusty jobsite conditions.

My experience with laser guides is limited as I've always used tried-and-true old skool methods to keep me level and plumb. When I came upon the Bosch GLL3-330CG and read about it I was intrigued - so much so that I decided to modernize my methods and add it to my tool box. Right out of the gate I was pleasantly surprised as to how easy it was to set up. "Intuitive" is a good word for that. I ran the level all day for multiple days on various jobs and actually found myself smiling a lot as I appreciated the job it was doing helping me to do my jobs. It's a nice piece of technology - well built and packed very nicely in it's Bosch blue tough-case. Five stars for this! ... show more

I use mine for everything - indoors and outdoors. The included battery adapter allows the use of regular batteries which is useful in an emergency if you don’t have spare rechargeables - really useful.

    • Except for the BM-1 stand, a great product!

Accurate, has a calibration warning, can use receiver, download app to phone to operate remotely, turning it off also locks it, can be operated with laser locked as well. Excellent hard plastic carry case includes BM-1, battery holder option, soft case for laser, target, and charger. Excellent manual with instructions on how to check calibration. They state is guaranteed for a year to be in calibration. After that, if out of cal must go to service center. The problem is the BM-1. Two issues. 1) the 1/4" tripod thread on the laser is not at the center of the bottom of the laser. This means when it is mounted in the BM-1 stand more of the laser weight is forward of the tripod thread which enhances the instability. 2) The BM-1 is a well manufactured and robust stand in most areas. Has tripod legs to extend for stability. The stand has a built in gear which allows raising and lowering the laser about 4" and is very smooth and has good drag so it doesn't wobble. However the tripod thread is mounted on a round wheel which rotates. This is to allow the laser to rotate once it is installed on the BM-1 stand. And this is where the problem is: The wheel in which the tripod thread is located has no significant friction once the laser is fastened to it. Since the weight of the laser is forward, the wheel will wobble slightly, and will not stay fixed at the angle you might turn it to. So all of this great engineering feat in the BM-1 is completely negated by the tripod threaded unstable wheel. The instability makes the stand completely useless even though every other feature is well engineered. I do not think the designers ever tried using this stand in the field! A simple work around is to press a thin shim out of wood or cardboard into the gap between the bottom side of this wheel and the housing of the BM-1 to lock it in place and eliminate the wobble. But the stand needs to be re-engineered to provide positive friction on the rotating wheel and also needs a method to lock this wheel in place. They did provide a lock for the vertical track on the BM-1 - so why not provide a lock for the rotating wheel on the same BM-1 fixture! There are 3 screws underside of this wheel, but difficult to reach - maybe I will open it up and maybe there is a way to provide positive friction, when I get tired of using shims! ... show more
