I installed these rear brake pads on a 2003 Passat but the included shims did not fit. I reused some old aftermarket shims (I think Centric 11733021). The difference is the included shims cover the horizontal surface that the pads sit on and the old shims do not. I've attached a picture of the old shim. The math: Brake pad 78mm + included top shim 0.5mm + included bottom shim 0.5mm = 79mm gap at least. My OEM caliper carrier gap is 78.3 mm with the surface rust removed. ... show more

I bought these brakes for my 2017 VW Jetta. The dealer wanted to charge me $1200 for a full set of brakes and rotors. I bought these brakes and took the vehicle and had the rotors turned for $250 dollars. Don’t waste your time at the dealer on labor, time, parts and effort.
