I'm only using this for dry storage, but it seals very well. It's easy to open and close as well. They're surprisingly heavy and feel very durable. I'll certainly be getting these again in the future.

If you're like me and mix several herbs like, ginger, turmeric and black pepper and other herbs and a need to air tight this mixture. This jar does the job, it has some weight, it's kind of thick glass and the seal is excellent...Bam..you welcome

just like fortnite only downside is that it makes an ugly noise when you try removing the lid that may just be on me not opening it right but im not sure

I usually use mason jars but I now am buying Fido jars as the lid is glass and it is better quality. Thicker glass with an attached lid, can’t get much better than this.

11/13/24 Update: {*note: Photos are of the older model better quality jar from before they lowered the quality*} I bought two of the same model .5L Glass Canning Jars a few months apart. Long story short, Bormioli Rocco are now using a lower quality thinner gauge metal for the hinges and clasps/latches of the jars. This allows lid to be loose, floppy, and disconnect at the hinge unexpectedly. This is a hazard for lid to fall and crack a porcelain kitchen floor tile, or worse fall on a child or a pets head. The quality of the metal mechanism of the jar I bought in November 2024, is not as high quality as the jar I bought in summer of 2024. The glass part of the jar seem to still be the same quality as the first jar I bought, but not the metal parts. I hope Bormioli Rocco reads this review and changes back to using high quality thicker gauge metal. *The photos are of the older better quality .5L jar before they changed it. *See my original review below from a earlier in 2024 for the very first jar I bought which was of higher quality, before they changed it and lowered the hinge/closure quality. Likes: Everything about it! Dislikes: None! Thankfully mine arrived unbroken. I ordered just one and it was shipped alone by itself in a box. I can imagine how if someone else had ordered more than one and if they aren't protected from each other inside of the box how the glass could shatter. But the product itself is top notch in my opinion. I'm an avid cook and love all things kitchen related but they have to be of great quality, and this heavy glass with a strong sealing mechanism. Even the Bormioli Rocco logo looks nice imprinted on the lid. I store fine pink sea salt in it. I will be ordering more jars. ... show more
