For those who gave this product less than 5 stars because they arrived broken or chipped -- seriously? You aren't reviewing the SHIPPING quality, you're reviewing the PRODUCT. Glass jars are 100% as sturdy as GLASS JARS. These aren't somehow less sturdy than normal glass jars because they arrived at your door chipped or broken. The simple fact of the matter is these jars are great. They fit the description (being wide mouth, glass jars) which also come with metal screw-on lids that have a thin rubber lining to keep things sealed. They are perfect for food storage, you can use them as a large cup, pickling, etc. They are GLASS JARS and they act like GLASS JARS. If they arrive chipped, broken or shattered, contact the seller. I haven't had a problem yet but I'd imagine if I told the seller they arrived damaged they'd send another one. ... show more

I’ve been using Ball jars for decades. I love how sturdy and how versatile they are. I have some food allergies and needed to store my own sauces and dressings. These worked great for that purpose. They keep everything nicely fresh. I also love how pretty they look for overnight oats and other batch cooking. Two things that are downsides for me: they don’t stack well with other ball jars, or themselves, and they can be a little tricky to clean. However, this case has a TON of jars. Definitely a plus for anyone making holiday gifts (teacher gifts, etc) or wedding favors. ... show more

Great size with a nice wide opening. I have food allergies and have to make a lot of ingredient items from scratch. I prefer glass, and while these have 2 part lids (on case you're doing propper canning) I bought plastic lids for easier access. Love them - a bit pricey, but worth it.
