  • Outstanding for us!
I have a 60-pound, 7-year-old Border Collie-Aussie Shepherd mix. I also have a 2005 Subaru Baja. In the Baja, the back seat folds down perfectly flat, and I put a kennel pad on that. I put a metal pet barrier that attaches to the seat rests, and my dog has the whole back seat to himself, safely, and can even look out of the window without standing up. About 2 weeks ago, he slipped (without injury) while jumping into the back seat. He is getting older, of course, and I want to spare his joints as he entered and exited the Baja. These Pet Stairs are the perfect solution for us. Pros: It's light. It's easy to hold my dog's leash with one hand and use the other hand to pull the Pet Stairs out of the trunk of the Baja and set it up. It's sturdy and stable. The rubber stoppers on the top and bottom steps do a great job of keeping it stable. It doesn't bend or flex at all when my dog climbs in, even when he only uses one step and jumps off of it onto the ground. I don't have to hold it or keep it steady with my foot when he uses it. It fits in the passenger doorway perfectly. The top step is completely inside the car, the middle step is right over the edge of the car and the bottom step is outside the car. Best of all, the top rubber stoppers fit neatly into a groove on the side of the Subaru Baja, which lends extra stability. My dog is about 20" tall at the shoulder, and he has plenty of room to walk right up the Pet Stairs while I have plenty of room to hold his leash and guide him into the car. The step pads seem very sturdy, and there's no danger of his feet slipping. In the photo, they looked plastic, but they have plenty of grip for his paws. It's much stronger than I thought, and I believe it will last for years. I'd bet this is universal. (I've tried it on 3 passenger sedans, but I obviously can't say this with absolute certainty.) I believe this would fit in any car, SUV, van or RV on the market. It might not reach the bed of a large truck. Possible Cons: For my dog and my car, there are none. However, it doesn't fold perfectly flat. For me, this isn't a problem since I store them in the "bed" or "trunk" of the Subaru Baja. However, it will take up room in your trunk or on the back seat floorboards so if you don't have the space to carry it, that could be a problem for you. (On the other hand, it's sturdy enough that you can place bags on top of it without fear of damaging it, and the fact that it doesn't fold makes the design more stable, I think.) Training could be an issue, depending on the dog. It's possible that your dog might not like it, depending on its personality and age. I allowed my dog time to adjust to it, he trusts me and he is "Border Collie Smart". First, I laid it on the garage floor, and I let him sniff it until he got bored with it. Next, I set up the Pet Stairs and told him "Up". He put his front paws on the bottom step, and I then praised him while his paws were on the step. We then went and played a few minutes outside the garage, which he loves to do. I then called him back into the garage and told him "Up" again, and he walked up the bottom and middle steps with his front paws with his back paws on the concrete floor. I praised him again while he was on the Pet Stairs, and then we went again outside to play catch a little more. The third time, I called him over and told him "Inside". He walked right up the Pet Stairs and got into the car like he'd been doing it all his life, no jumping required. I again praised him. When I told him "Down", he used the top 2 steps and hopped down easily. Summary: Jumping in and out of cars is tough on a dog's joints, I'm sure. Even if the dog is healthy now, every dog grows older, and I wanted to spare my dog any unnecessary wear-and-tear on his knees and hips. I also wanted to make sure my dog never again slipped while jumping into the car. If you have a large dog and want the dog into the bed of a larger truck, it might be best if you used a Pet Ramp. If you have a sedan, an SUV or a van, or if your dog needs help getting on a couch or chair or bed, then I strongly recommend this product for the sake of your dog's joints. (I wish I'd known of this product when my dog was younger.) ... show more

  • Greatest invention since humans started adopting fur-kids!
My 2 Labrador puppies can get completely filthy in about 2 seconds. Always having to bathe them and for Labradors, they really hate bath-time. I keep telling them they are supposed to like water but it does not help. My old method was to bring them into my shower with me. Back breaking work and very upsetting to them being confined in a big glass booth with water pouring over their heads. We all ended up unhappy, soaking wet, and irritable. The Booster Bath works great! Sturdy and efficient. The tether holds them in-place (but do not leave them unattended!) so I can use both hands to scrub-a-dub-dub them. Makes bath-time much quicker. I end up less drenched. The girls still do not like bath-time but mommy is happier, has less to clean-up, and they have to endure the scrubbing for about half the time the old way took. Easy setup and cleanup - I just keep it in my garage and drag it out a couple feet when it is bath-time so the drainage hose sticks out of the garage to let the water run down the driveway. Not sure what will happen in the winter because I do not have access to hot water in garage (laundry room upstairs) but for now, I love it! ... show more

  • Great product.
Great product but I wish I’d known about the sale on Amazon: $250.00 for the large tub INCLUDING THE STAIRS. I could have saved $75.00..

  • Good Quality
Glad I bought this to go along with the Booster Bath. Well made and sturdy. It’s nice not needing to lift my older dog into the bath. Only gave it a four star review since it’s a bit pricey and think it needn’t be a separate purchase.

  • Great addition to our Booster Bath tub!
Bought these steps to attach to our XL Booster Bath Plastic Dog Bath . What a great addition! Buying the Booster Bath was such a positive change when it came to bathing my four dogs, and these steps have taken it to an even higher level of assistance. As my husband and I age, it becomes more difficult to do things that we never gave a second thought to in our earlier years. While spending $200-$300 on products to bathe dogs might seem ridiculous at first, it takes only 2 trips to the groomer with four dogs to cover the costs. Plus, grooming bills are recurring. This setup will last for the rest of our lives. We will never be without dogs ... they are such an important part of our enjoyment of life. Now bathing them is easier on us and them. In addition to using the steps on the Booster Bath, we also use them on our bed to assist the two smaller dogs in getting up and down. Saves us a lot of aggravation. But that isn't all! These steps are so light and easy to use, that they provide assistance with the dogs getting into our SUVs when we are traveling. I highly recommend these steps to anyone with dogs, whether you own a Booster Bath or not. At this point I don't know what I ever did without them! ... show more

  • Fits the shower tub perfectly
These steps fit the dog washing tub wonderful. They are solid but seriously...way over priced. Be aware...the large size does not clip on to the tub so be careful when your pup runs down them. I haven't had a slipping problem yet but, I always hold the side when the dogs run down them.
