For $50, I didn’t have that high of an expectation. This is overall a great safe for the price. It doesn’t come with batteries, I thought it was just rechargeable but it’s ok. 4 batteries are required to keep it charged. The box appears sturdy, might came with a small dent on the top- but I probably won’t bother returning it. The size is large enough for most, and I would highly recommend bolting it against the wall rather than the floor due to complexity with drilling it into floorboards ... show more

This safe is easy to install and use. Seems sturdy. Similar to the ones in hotel rooms, but comes with a key in case of battery failure or if you forget the combination. Will get lots of use.

Size: 0.60 cu.ft. (New Model)
First, the size they claim is a bit inaccurate, claims it can hold "legal" size documents, NOPE!! I have 8 1/2 x 11 checks that are in a folder barely bigger than that and it is a struggle to get them in and out. Barely fit and the inside is supposed to be 9 3/4 x 13 ish. So, unless you are just putting in sheets of paper, no folder or dividers, this really isn't the one for you. One reason for the sizing issue is the door hinge, it is about an inch or little more square at the bottom corner takes up space that is supposed to be usable. It is not. Second, the so called "Mat" that comes with it is just a piece of felt. OK, so that will do the job if you are trying not to scratch your counter or shelf, but here's the problem........they cut a big piece out of the corner of it and used it for the padding for the door so it did not bang around in shipping, so the mat is not usable. But here's the kicker....When I reached out to Amazon Customer Service, after like 5 people disconnecting me for taking longer than 20 seconds to type my response, I had 2 options, 1st, just forget the mat and deal or 2nd, they ship me new safe, I unpack it, set up the lock, because the mat is inside the safe and the safe is locked, then send them back the safe. Then, after telling them how ridiculous that was and I wasn't doing it, they gave me a $15 credit that you can't find. It is only for and item sold and shipped byAmazon, which is fine, but there seem to be no mats that fit that. So, didn't get what I paid for in that department. FYI: I am told that the $15 credit only shows up at checkout, so I spent hours trying to find a mat that would qualify just to get to checkout and there is no credit so I have to delete it and look for another. I did nothing wrong, I ordered the safe and paid for it but yet, as usual lately, I'm the one spending hours to just get what I paid for. ... show more
