This was one of the weirdest emotional roller coaster purchases I think I've ever made on Amazon. 1st, same with everyone else, package came littered with the Styrofoam pieces. Broken into little pieces. Had to vacuum 3 times to get rid of them. Not 1 piece of the furniture was damaged. 2nd, the pieces were covered in dust. Had to wipe them all down and then vacuum again before even starting the assembly. And lastly.. sigh the missing holes. Looking at past reviews, it does look they started to add little marks (almost like they took a knife and just lightly nicked where the hole should go), so I think I'm grateful for that. However, I just so happened to purchase a drill the day before. Dunno what I would have done if I didn't have one. You'd have to use a screw driver with a lot of strength and there are about 20+ holes you'd need to do this on. The first time I opened it I couldn't even find the little nicks they made. Had to read the reviews and watch the video 3 times before I finally found them. Then I thought the holes weren't measured right. First night left it on the floor in frustration. The next day I pulled out measuring tape and got to work. 4 hours later... I finally had it put together. So here's my thoughts after all this. The holes were properly made, even though it looks off. Although, the drawers do go in further than I think they should. But I'd rather they go in further than stick out. The locks... you'll need a drill to get them in. But if you use a drill, it bends that piece of metal used to lift the lock to lock the drawer. The keys are weak so I'm uneasy about even using the locks as it takes some strength because drilling them bends it. So they work with some effort, but I don't know for how long and would rather not risk locking a drawer I can't unlock. The end result is indeed a beautiful piece of furniture. It's sturdy and heavy so the wheels on the bottom are a nice touch. Would I buy this again? Yes, as long as I had someone else put it together. I recommend anyone who purchases this to not stare at the directions in frustration for an hour like I did. Pull up the video, and start/stop it for each section.

Before I start my review I just want to point out that it looks like the manufacturer is making improvements to this product. I say that based on some of the complaints in past reviews (2020 and earlier) compared to unit that was shipped to me (April 2021). For instance, because so many people mentioned the substandard casters I purchased a set of heavy duty rubber casters to install as replacements. Imagine my surprise when the casters that came with my unit were the exact same ones I had purchased separately. Also, it looks like they paid attention to requests for pre-drilled holes. They're there, but be forewarned, they are very hard to see against the black surface. My only other suggestion to the manufacturer would be to find a way to ship the unit with the drawer sliders already attached. It's the biggest headache and hurdle during assembly. Now my review... I've purchased a lot of furniture online (from Amazon and other sites), and am pretty adept at whatever assembly is in store for me when it arrives. This cabinet nearly broke me!!! 3 1/2 hours of the most tedious labor I've ever done and not been paid for. As stated above, the drawers are the biggest pain point. They easily took 2 1/2 of the total assembly time. I was slowed a little as some of the label stickers came off during shipping. You can imagine my frustration when I discovered I was putting the wrong hardware on the wrong panel. Pros: - Nice looking modern piece of office furniture - Sturdy and rigid MDF panels - Tons of storage Cons: - Don't buy this for the locking function. As stated in other reviews the locks (and keys) are cheap. Half of mine didn't install properly or broke during installation. - I've said enough about the assembly...but you really should prepare yourself for a long slog if you decide to purchase this My only other advise is to take your time while putting this together. Recognize that you need at least 15 mins to clean the pieces when you take them out of the box (the Styrofoam packaging chips during shipping). You may also want to use the tip of a pocket knife to make the pre-drilled holes a little easier to see. I don't know if I'd recommend this, but good luck if you do purchase it.

I was really looking forward to this item, and was very disappointed: 1. Takes at least 3 hrs to build. 2. You better have bionic eyes, because you won't be able to read a font size of 6 maybe 7. You won't be able to read the details and maybe that's why the drawers aren't flush, 3. Why bother with the lock. As soon as you use it once, when you unlock it, it breks. 4. Drawers aren't flush to cabinet. 5. The locking ring is interesting, but sometimes it requires an opposite turn so you wonder if it will last. 6. The smallest screws are so hard to screw in because it may have been a dot, so you hope you are screwing it correctly. 7 Forget about a refund and returning it, because you won't be able to unbuild it and re-box it. IMPOSSIBLE, so you are stuck with this cabinet. WHAT IS GOOD? 1. It is a strong type of material. 2. The locking mechanisms for the screws are decent. 3. It looks "overall" good, except for the recessed drawers. 4. The finishing on the "wood' is good. Had I read a review like this, I would not have purchased it.

This was more complex than I anticipated. The video helps some but it is no where near as fast to assemble as it shows. The drawers came out not fitting into the open space to close the front as a flat surface and you can’t use tabs on the hanging folders, they get in the way of the drawer closing. But it’s nice and sturdy and functional if you have like 25 hanging folders to store. Over all I am happy with the purchase.

My husband put it together and found the instructions were difficult to follow as they were extremely hard to read due to the fact that they were very faded! Also predrilled holes were hardly noticeable! However once put together it was quite pleasing to the eye and is just what we needed.
