Bones Coffee is great. No, it's probably not the best coffee you'll ever have, but that's not why you drink it. Bones does a great job of elevating potable coffee with engaging stories about the flavor. It's like a select-your-own adventure with coffee and the chance to "pick a team" with a matching hand thrown mug (if you want to get deeper into the tale or be admired/detested/envied by the team from accounting). While I am not a fan of flavored coffee, this brand is truly the best. Where most others leave a bad, chemical aftertaste, Bones Coffee does not. As a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan I ordered a special sampler box and was addicted from there. Sinn 'O' Bunn is my favorite and is the perfect pick me up in the morning. I bought the whole beans and grind them at home so I do have to clean out my burr grinder after use because the cinnamon smell is strong and will leave it's mark on the next set of beans. The amount of beans also seems smaller in comparison to other brands so the value is not the greatest but it is a special treat. ... show more

I’ve tried 3 kcups and their whole bean coffee- Sumatra only right now. Let me tell you, all are flavorful and smell up the kitchen in a good way! Kcups do not need a regular coffee to enhance taste, they are easily potent on their own! The Sumatra is just awesome and I anticipate the same for Guatemala and Costa Rica blends! I would love to see bigger bag and kcup options! I hate the price but this brand is superb and worthy! ... show more

Flavor Name: Jelly Donuts Size: 12 oz Ground Coffee
Update: I have now tried a couple more flavors. I love Army of Dark Chocolate. Probably my favorite flavor so far. On the flip side, Holy Cannoli is a major disappointment. I don't know if maybe my bag got mistakenly filled with the wrong grounds or what. But it has no flavoring at all, justs tastes like basic coffee. Not even a hint of cannoli. I was so hopeful too. I still plan on trying some others in the future, but not really liking this one. Original: I have never liked coffee at all before recently. Matter of fact, the smell of it brewing or even the coffee aisle at the grocer made me truly nauseous. After developing a health condition that forced me to give up colas, I needed an alternative source of caffeine. I found a brand and worked my way up strength-wise, and now I don’t know why I was so grossed out by coffee before. When I came back on Amazon to reorder it, this brand was on the bottom of the page and it looked mighty interesting. Jelly donut was especially intriguing, as there is no greater pastry (fight me over it!). I was a little worried when I ordered and opened the package it came in. I could smell it strong and thought it might have busted open, but it hadn’t. There is a little button at the top of the bag that emits a smell when you squeeze it. Kind of a cute feature. I really wasn’t expecting much, flavor-wise. Most things that are flavored have a fake taste, or a bad aftertaste. I can say 100% I AM SOLD! I don’t know that I will ever buy another brand again. Seriously, I could absolutely see myself giving up the unhealthy foods in favor of this coffee. It tastes like I am having a cup of coffee and a jelly donut! No funky aftertaste. Flavor Name: Jelly Donuts Size: 12 oz Whole Bean Coffee
Love both Bananas Fosters and Jelly Donut. I do not add sugar or creamer to my coffee, so I prefer flavored, and many flavored coffees do not deliver as promised, but this one does. Bananas Foster, love the flavor but would love it even more if the banana flavor was a bit more pronounced. Jelly Donut reminds me of the jelly donuts I loved eating as a kid. Realized how much I appreciate the low acidity of this brand after rotating in other brands I drink. Price is higher than other brands, but well worth it and much less expensive than grabbing a cup of ho hum coffee at any fast-food restaurant or a Starbucks. ... show more

    • It kinda/sorta delivers on its promise
Flavor Name: Cinnamon Roll Size: 12 oz Ground Coffee
I used 20g of the ground coffee and 200g of water to do an immersion brew, ramping the water temperature from 140f to 210F over 2.5 minutes. Then I filtered it in a Chemex, resulting in 140g of coffee. It does deliver an aroma somewhat resembling a cinnabun, but it's more like a crude approximation rather than the real thing. Same for the taste, but less so. So.... perhaps my brewing procedure for this coffee is off? IMHO, I think the company should write on the package what their recommended brewing procedure is, so that we can reproduce their method and thereby be sure of getting the same taste that they're touting. I could try dialing it in by running a lot of brewing variants, but after this first exposure I'm just not convinced that it would be worth the time or that the result would be much improved. Major negative: nowhere on the packaging does it indicate the roast date (at least none that I saw), so maybe it's just sat in an amazon warehouse for who knows how long? I did open the package and tried it on the day it arrived from amazon, so there was no delay on my end. Overall? No, I won't be reordering it. I don't find it enjoyable to drink. In fact, I'll be round binning the rest of the bag, which means I just had a roughly $18 cup of meh/bleh coffee. For somebody else, maybe adding milk and sugar to it would improve the result, but if you're going down that path, maybe you should just bake a cinnabun and have a bite of it with a good cup of coffee? Usually we buy whole beans from a family in town that does cottage roasting - their coffee is amazingggggg and just as good as some of the fancy coffee shops that roast their own beans, last week they went out of town but we were out of beans so I ordered this seeing that it was a single origin whole bean, we tried the Colombian because we love a good classic black coffee - did not disappoint!
