## Summary I bought these batteries for my smart locks, which are always on and burn through batteries surprisingly fast. I didn’t have high expectations because no AA battery I’ve tried—brand name or otherwise, lithium or alkaline—has lasted more than two to three months in these locks. I chose to buy these BONAI batteries primarily because the price was unusually affordable for lithium batteries. I purchased a 12-pack in January, and it’s now mid-May. The original batteries are still going strong. I’m now buying more for every other device in my home that uses AA batteries, which says everything about how impressed I am with their performance. ## What Works Well * **Exceptional battery life:** These have lasted significantly longer than any other AA batteries I’ve used, including well-known lithium brands. * **Consistent performance:** They provide stable power without the sudden drop to 0% that some batteries experience near the end of their life. * **No leaks or defects:** All 12 batteries worked perfectly, and I haven’t experienced any leakage or other issues. * **Excellent for high-drain devices:** I highly recommend them for smart locks, cameras, and other electronics that draw power continuously. * **Useful for emergency storage:** Because they are lithium batteries with a long shelf life, they also appear to be a strong option for emergency preparedness. ## What to Know Before You Buy * **Higher upfront cost than alkaline batteries:** Even though these are very competitively priced for lithium batteries, they still cost more initially than standard alkaline batteries. * **Long-term shelf life not yet tested personally:** My real-world experience has been excellent, but I haven’t stored them for years, so I can’t personally comment on how they hold up over very long periods in storage. ## Verdict/Recommendation These are the longest-lasting AA batteries I’ve ever used, and they’ve been completely reliable. I have bought similar products before. But I am very disappointed with this brand. About one out of four batteries have been inferior, lasting a much shorter time than other batteries in this package.

The batteries do not last long and we tested the remaining batteries in the pack and some were not fully energized. I think 5 out of 8 were prematurely low or nearly zero on voltage. We will not be purchasing this brand in the future. Update-the company contacted me and doubled the replacement batteries to provide a better customer experience. I have not used the replacement batteries of yet but I do appreciate that they reached out and are attempting to rectify my dissatisfaction. Thank you.

These batteries put off toxic fumes! The smell terrible! I couldn't believe it would be the batteries stinking up my house but it was!?!?! These batteries were in my home for less than 2 months and they smelled terrible. I couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from and didn't believe it to be this pack of batteries. I had headaches sore throat for weeks, and now finally packaging them up today for returning them I realized on top of just not being rechargeable they are DEFECTIVE! These batteries smell terrible like almost a compost sweet foul and very mild almost undetectable noxious persistent odor so when I grabbed up this pack of batteries the odor was very strong and it was the odor I've been searching for for the last month or more. This is so DANGEROUS! ITS BEEN MAKING ME VERY SICK! DO NOT BUY THESE BATTERIES!

Edited Review: Original review was 2/5 stars based on the comments below. The company reached out and offered a small pack of rechargeable li-ion batteries they produce. Not asked for, but appreciated as those will meet the need we were originally looking to fulfill. The batteries reviewed here do function well for outdoor year-round use and are going on six months with some -10F temperatures. Batteries were powerful and consistently so, but didn't last long at all in some of the Lego motors we placed them in. Purchased these while looking for lithium ion rechargeable batteries. I did find them useful for some outdoor sensors we have since they work well in the cold. These are NOT rechargeable and require special considerations for responsible disposal which cost us $1/battery. Would not purchase again and would instead look for rechargeable batteries.

These are NOT RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERIES. These showed up in the Amazon search for RECHARGEABLE batteries? I should have looked closer. And I bought them . The vendor apologized for the confusion and insisted on sending a complimentary 8 pack of rechargeable batteries with a charging case to make amends. And much to my surprise I now have a set of batteries that I wanted all along. Well done Bonai!!!
