Having the ability to easily set from 3lbs all the way to 40lbs makes it ideal for the entire family - with no need for stacks of weight plates or dumbbell racks to clutter up your room. Very well built and should easily last a lifetime of use even if abused. Quite comfortable to hold even for extended workouts. This is the perfect addition to our family's various "color coded" dumbbell collection and has become my son's preferred go-to for his bicep curls and deadlifts. This arrived and was opened but I had not had the chance to use it. The day I went to use it (about 10 days after it was opened) it was broken. My kids told me that one of the younger children had dropped it and now it doesn't pick up the weights. I was pretty frustrated as I hadn't even gotten the chance to use it yet. However, I have a very smart and mechanical daughter and husband who figured out how to repair it an it's as good as new. This adjustable dumbbell has an excellent grip that feels good on my hands. It's easy to use and the dumbbell adjusts smoothly when switching weights. It feels durable and sits well in its base. The weights are a bit odd, but that's not a big deal. You don't have your standard 5 pound increments, but that doesn't bother me. I love how it feels and an adjustable dumbbell makes a big difference when you are short on space.
