I did not have a 24-hour helper after ankle surgery. Getting up to turn on or off the fan was tedious a chore. Navigating from the living room to the bedroom at night previously required getting to the bedroom to turn on the light, back to the living room to turn off the light, back to the bedroom, and do it again in the morning since I get up before dawn. I can now turn on or off the lights in either room, from either room, even through closed doors. Every friend that came to visit me during recovery wanted the link to order this. You will not be disappointed. There is no setup required. Just plug it in and it works. The remote control is preset. I saved the instructions because you can pair it manually if for any unknown reason it loses the codes. I have not had to do this.

I use this remote to turn on and off my fan in my living room and bedroom and my living room lamp.I was worried that plug would not be in the range of the signal because the plug in the bedroom is behind my cedar chest and the lamp is plugged into an outlet which is hidden into a plastic box for aesthetics. The other fan plug is fairly visible but still a bit of a distance from my futon where I sit and watch TV. I'm happy to say that I can turn on the one fan in the living room easily while seated several feet away. The one in the bedroom I can stand in the hall which is a decent distance away, point the remote control to the fan and it turns it on and off quickly and easily! The lamp in my L/R is fairly close to where I sit but the plug is hidden inside this plastic box. Works like a charm! This is great to use for electronics that do not have their own remote and also makes it easy to not have to get up and down or make maneuvers to turn the fans on and off. Highly recommend this product! I get nothing for saying this trust me. I just like to share what I know is true to help others. I only wish it came with another remote control so I don't have to bring the remote control switch from the living room to the bedroom when I go to sleep. Not a bad inconvenience. I still would buy this again if I needed more remote devices for my home appliances. One other thing is I would not use this for heavy duty items like a air conditioner. I don't think it is designed for the power of an AC or other heavy duty electric appliance like a toaster oven. You can always check with the manufacturer to see if that is possible but from my knowledge of electronic devices it does not seem to be capable of controlling heavy voltage appliances. Please check with manufacturer before purchasing if that is what you need. I give this item an A rating for the uses I have described!

I bought these as i was getting ready to have surgery. I sleep wth a fan on at night, so I put one of them on the fan, and another on my bedside lamp. They work great. I can't reach the lamp when I'm in bed bc my reach is limited and couldn't bend to turn on the fan, so this was perfect. It was easy to set up. I haven't used the third plug yet, but have considered using it on my husband's lamp since he's always falling asleep with the light on. I highly recommend.

Overall these are fine and do mostly what I wanted them to. I was looking to operate some lights that are not connected to outlets already operated with a light switch. I was happy with how easy they were to setup and connect and even mount to the wall (using some 3M Command Strips) but I still have some unreliable results that I can't seem to figure out. In one set of them (I bought two), it will reliably turn off the one that is about 6 feet away, but unreliably turn off the one that is about 12 feet away. Neither are obstructed. With the other set, the closer one is about 4 feet and the further is about 8 feet, and it still happens irregularly with these as well. I don't ever seem to have a problem turning the switch (lights) on, it's only when I'm trying to turn them off. I often have to pop it down from the wall and manually point it at the fussy one to get it to work.
