Looks great! I bought the “walnut” TWIN size. Appearance and description: I was wanting a finish that would match our other furniture (a medium natural cherry shade), and complement with the Koa (tiger wood) flooring. I took a chance, but in the picture, “Walnut” looked like our cherry furniture. I figured I could take a look at the wood when I received it and return it if I didn’t like the color. I was very happy with the color! It does look just like the picture. Packing and assembly: It was packed very well and with care. All of the pieces were accounted for. It came with instructions, but for us, the assembly was so easy and intuitive, we didn’t need to refer to them. Functionality: It not only looks great, comes in good condition because of careful packaging, and is easy to assemble, but it also functions exactly as it should. My son is 6’3” and slim, but with his height, he is still a substantial sized new adult. It supports his mattress with no creaks or ominous sounds of protest when he sits or lies. He doesn’t jump on his bed, so I don’t know if it could withstand that kind of treatment, but he’s also far too tall to do so without hitting his head on the ceiling, and he has matured beyond that anyway. Speaking of height, it has a very nice clearance for storage, and also is not too low to the floor. Tall people can appreciate that. I looked at many similar styles of bed and this one had one of the best under bed clearance. On the TWIN, there are just 4 sturdy legs and no other ugly supports under the bed to interfere with storage or cleaning. We put a thin sheet of backer board over the slats under our foam mattress. Price: This is obvious. It is a good price. I was thrilled that my top choice was also reasonably priced. ... show more

    • Defective, not damaged
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this item 3 times now. The first two times, the bed frames worked out just fine. The third time around I got a deal, about 50% off, because the manufacturer said the frame on sale had a scratch on it, that it was damaged. That turned out to be a LIE. It was not damaged, it was defective. The wooden pieces were not machined and cut correctly, which made the assembled bed frame wobbly and unstable. See my video. You can clearly see that the pieces are not an exact fit. With the first two bed frames I ordered, I had to hammer the wooden pieces together because they were cut correctly, for a tight and secure fit. I now have two of these. First bought a twin for my spare room, liked it so much, I bought a full size one for my own use. So easy to put together, take apart, and move around all by myself.

Although I'm mostly happy with the twin bed, there was one huge disappointment: while assembling with my father, a chunk of the wood corner snapped off! Fortunately, my father had wood glue and a clamp.

    • Aesthetically pleasing, but wobbles
Very easy to assemble, directions were clear and everything was labeled for ease of building. My only dislike is the joints - although machined to fit each other, there is variable clearance between pieces. This makes it such that the bed frame will wobble and even with the 4 screws that are provided, they aren't sufficient enough to prevent this. Also, the center wooden supports that have Velcro attachment come a bit rough edged as there's splinters. Not a huge deal breaker, but something to note. You could screw in additional screws or maybe add in a wooden wedge but then again it might ruin the aesthetic of the corners. For the price, it's more so Japanese joinery inspired than what the title may suggest. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was very excited to purchase this bed, but the quality is quite poor. While I was putting it together, some of the wooden piece fell apart in my hand instantly with no use or force whatsoever. I was stunned to see them fall apart which demonstrated poor quality, and I was frustrated as I expected more. I’m afraid how long the bed will now last when utilized due to the fragility of the wood. I’m afraid I cannot recommend this purchase. ... show more

The joinery pieces on one end of each long side rail were broken. One piece also had a scratched/damaged finish. Returning ASAP - see photos. I will be splurging on the Thuma bed instead.
