  • Works great, so glad we have it, battery lasts 20+ amount of drill holes
I'm somewhat familiar with various auger drills. It seems a good value for the price, it's easy to use, and it matches the product description. It's a good quality earth auger drill that uses a 40V 2.5AH battery. It easily drills at least 20 holes, maybe more if you're efficient with it. You want to make sure it does most of the work, and it'll take a good bit of upper body strength to keep it under control. My first drill is about 3-4 inches to get past the grass, then I clear the bottom blade of any debris. I then drill halfway, and instead of reversing, pull it out so that it takes the soil out. I make sure to clear the bottom blade, and lightly kick the bit with the bottom of my shoe so that any clumps of soil fall out. Then I drill all the way down, then pull it out again so the soil also comes out with it. It's been durable so far with one full charge, and another 1/4 charge. If you want to drill further than 3 feet, you'll want to drill another hole, then shovel down to the bottom, and start drilling again further down. So far, we've been glad to have it, and it has been essential for our tree planting effort. The battery charges fast, so that's another plus. ... show more

  • back saver with a lot of torque!!!
ive used manual post hole diggers all my life. this battery powered auger is a back saver and works wonderfully. the drive is very powerful and handled my yards notoriously hard ground. handled some possibly harder rocks farther down with no problems. do be aware this machine has a lot of torque. if you encounter very hard object it can "kick back" on you. this is not a fault of the machine but simple physics when your removing large amount of materials and meet serious resistance. when this happens just let go of the handle and catch it again immediately. since your hand is off the throttle and safety engage button, it stops quickly. labor saver and perfectly bored holes. extra tip: although not mentioned in the description or use. Id bet this unit would be awesome to bore holes for ice fishing. ... show more

  • Women’s Perspective: Manageable -> Will require some practice to get it to dig deep
To preference this first: I am a 65 plus old 5’4” heights 130lb female but have done my share of gardening and DIY construction: So far I have shied away from augers; -> many are too heavy for me to either lift or to keep control off. In addition, many corded ones need heavy duty extension cords etc.; while cordless ones are often too light with not enough power, or are quick to run out of battery power. Seeing this one I decided to give it a try - even though I was a bit concerned about it being only a 40V battery with only 2500 ahm; my plan is for a little library post in my front yard. I charged the battery first as stated in the instructions, and so far I must say the battery power has not been an issue! The auger too is indeed Iight weight and was easy to assemble. ** First Try’s: ** ~ On my first couple of attempts, I could only get the auger about one foot into the ground, and at some point it would just stop. It took me a few attempts to make sure that I wasn’t the cause: letting go of the switch while trying to keep control off the auger and its movement, but it became clear that at a certain point the heaviness of soil can make the auger stop dead no matter the switch; - ~ Also, at other times I simply had to let go of the switch because the auger had too much torque for me to hold it, and the sudden stop motion ripped the auger out of my hands. —- Fortunately the auger blade surface did not let soil stick to the blade too much, so it felt easy to lift the auger back out of the hole without lifting extra soil (unless that’s what you want). Bottom line: the depth of my first hole was disappointing at 15”, but I believe I can learn to work this more favorably by better removing soil and working “in steps” - especially given my soil is caliche and full of rocks. I drilled several practice holes and the battery held. - The noise level was surprisingly not bad at all, and the little light could come in handy when surprised by working too long and it getting dark. I found the price a bit steep but there is presently little comparison out there for similar products I could find. 🌟*Verdict*🌟 => 3.5 STARS: - Requires practice to manage torque versus stopping - and soil removal; light enough for a female to handle; battery life seems adequate. Hesitantly recommend but for the high price and it coming only with one battery, no replacements, no universal fit. =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= -> *My RATE SCALE*: ⭐️ 1 Star = Shouldn’t be sold or is dangerous --> Do not buy! ⭐️⭐️ 2 Stars = Too many problems/false claims/not as depicted --> Stay away! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 Stars = On fence: passable, but wouldn’t bother again; --> Hesitant to recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 Stars = Just minor imperfections --> Would buy/recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars = Just Perfect! A very rare score!! -> Do Recommend! >> -> Please NOTE: I consider 4 Stars a very high rating. ... show more

  • Powerful, easy to use, and a real back saver
The media could not be loaded. I got this auger because I’m planning to replace my wood fence—the one my wife and I built about 15 years ago—so I knew I had a lot of holes to drill and didn’t want to go through that manually again. After using it, I can say it makes a huge difference. The power is very good for a cordless unit. It goes through regular soil without problems, and even in harder ground it still performs well. You do need to hold it firmly because it has strong torque, but that’s expected with any auger. The battery life is solid too. I was able to drill multiple holes in one session without needing to recharge, which is a big plus when working outside. What I like the most is how convenient it is—no gas, no cables, just press and go. Much cleaner and quieter than gas-powered options. I also had my kids around (supervised), and they were impressed with how fast it works. It definitely makes these kinds of projects easier and even a bit more enjoyable. Overall, it feels well made and does the job right. For anyone doing fencing, planting, or similar work, this is a great tool to have. The price is indeed affordable. Happy to recommend it. ... show more
