  • 1 Year After Purchase and still cleaning
Style: 511
The only problems I’ve had are my own when choosing which one I needed and not having the best location available for maximum benefit. I needed something to try and help cut down pollen carried in off clothes and we had less rain and more dust this past year and I’m glad I bought it. Did it eliminate the dust, no the amount brought in on a daily basis is higher than other places I’ve lived and I should have considered that. I’ve changed the filter sooner than recommended in order to keep it working and not burn out or lose suction from keeping it on the setting recommended for areas when there’s more air movement, I did read some of the lower rated reviews and I don’t know what happened with theirs. Mine sits on a plant stand I had and my husband and I have knocked it over, it came apart but nothing broke, sounded the same…quite… still felt the air flow. I’m also happy with BlueAir filter cost. Love the pre filter!!! You can see how much dust it’s removing without taking anything apart to see how or if it’s working it’s obvious and it’s light enough to take outside when removing for washing. I’ve just hand washed mine and air dried, it’s not thick to allow air flow and drys quickly, just to have it last longer. Washed several times in the past year and no need to replace still looks the same. ... show more

  • Sold for life!
Style: 511
I am a brand user for life! We have two of the bluair purifiers now. A couple years back, I watched a Canadian documentary/study on various air purifiers on the market. I was blown away at how many of them don’t even do what they claim. Needless to say, this company is one of the few that actually held up to their claims and filtered air properly. I have been hooked ever since then. We’ve had them for years and have never looked back. ... show more

  • Worth every penny!
Style: Mini Max
I own the Mini Max. I use it in my classroom. It’s very quiet and I know it’s working very well. I have a student who has bad allergies and I myself do as well. It has helped with the air quality and dust levels in my classroom. You can see how dirty my filter got after 6 months of use. I do vacuum the outside filter occasionally and have brought it home to wash over school breaks. You will not regret getting one of these. ... show more

  • Good air filter for a small space
Style: 511
I got this for my home office. It works well. The lower settings are not loud, but it moves and filters a fair amount of air, and can be turned up if needed. Works well for my setup. It doesn't have any air-quality sensors, so it runs constantly at the level to which you set it. I like that the status lights turn off after a few seconds so they don't light up the room even more than all the blinky computer lights I already have. The cloth filter around the body is easy to remove and clean, and the replacement filters are easy to find. ... show more

  • Quiet and works great for pet smell in small room
Style: 511
Have had this little air purifier now for about two months. Using in a small 11x11 foot bedroom where I keep a cage with two sugar gliders and have my home office. I keep the air purifier on low and the room always smells fresh now. Very impressive for a small and quiet air purifier.

  • Blueair purifiers are the best!
Style: 511
Purifies air as promised. Quiet on low and some fan sound on high, hardly noticeable. Simple and sleek design, not too big or too small, good for bedroom use. Hand-washable fabric pre-filter available in different colors along with affordable HEPA filter replacements (about one filter change per year) makes this purifier a great buy. Blueair is now my first choice for air purifiers! ... show more

  • Get the levoit Core 300s instead.
Style: 411 Auto
The media could not be loaded. I couldn't decide between 300s or the blueair 411 auto, so I bought both. I ended up keeping the 300s. Looks: blueair Albeit personal preference, the blueair wins this area pretty handily for me. I like the taller skinnier design of the blueair given where I was going to place it *(.7 inches skinnier). Plus the fabric filter covers on the 411 allow it to blend in more with my decor. The levoit, is a giant piece of plastic, and it looks like it. The display on top is slick, but I leave that off most of the time Filter: Tie, with maybe slight edge to the 411. The filter on the levoit is about twice as thick, but has about half as much exterior surface area as the 411. Additionally I think the fabric pre-filter on the 411 will probably do a better job of keeping the actual filter from having to filter large particles. I suspect the 411's filter will probably last longer due to all of this. However given the added thickness of the levoit, I bet it's filtering smaller particles better. Filter costs: Tie 3rd party replacement filters for both are about the same. Although I suspect the 411 will need them slightly less frequently due to the increased exterior surface area of the filter. Exterior Build: Levoit The 411 doesn't really have any type of skeleton protecting the outside of the filter. While handling the 411, I was constantly concerned I'd crush the filter or otherwise deform it *(and I did). The other problem with this is blueair didn't really give you any safe place to grab the 411. The levoit on the other hand is a giant solid feeling piece of plastic. Although I won't be moving this around very often there is a good chance my dog will brush into it or poke it (she sleeps next to it), so this did matter a little. Fan: Levoit The Levoit's fan is a solid impeller type fan. When you shake the unit you don't hear any kind of play from the bearings or mechanisms. There are 4 fans speeds plus auto, (sleep, low, med, high) and auto will switch between those 4. An interesting quirk is that whenever you change fan speeds it seems the Levoit overshoots the speed slightly, and then slows the fan down from there. That doesn't really bother me though as I don't expect to be changing speeds often. The 411 however is a standard 5 bladed 6.5-ish inch fan (I didn't measure). When I shook the 411 I could hear play in the fan's mechanism. There are 3 fan speeds (low, med, high) and auto switches between them auto here In terms of air volume coming out of the top of the units the Levoit sleep, low and medium are equivalent to the low, medium, high speeds on the 411. That means the levoit's high is a whole extra gear higher of air movement when compared to the 411. The specs of the unit corroborate this fact. Noise: Levoit- This is by far the most important section to me. The 411 is audible even on the lowest setting (or auto), and to make it worse it has a baseball cards in bicycle spokes type noise (check out the video in my review of the 411). The Levoit is inaudible on sleep, and I often use low as white noise if I take a nap during the day. On Medium and High have the levoit does have a slight high pitched whistle, but I don't need to use those settings much. Power Use: Tie I used a belkin wemo insight to measure both devices at varying fan speeds, and waited for the power draw to stabilize. The insight can not measure less than 2W and instead displays <2W. Also the 300s was connected to wifi when I performed this test. Levoit: Auto <2 W, Sleep <2W, low = 5W, Medium, 9W, high= 22W 411: Auto <2W, Low <2W, Medium 2W, high 9W. As I'll be leaving this on Auto most of the time, that's what matters most to me. As both are less than 2W, my suspected running cost for both is less than $2/yr at $.11/kwh. Basically don't worry about power draw. App: Levoit In spite of myself being a smarthome enthusiast *(I have at least 70+ smart devices, and about 25+ apps to control them all), I did not care about having another app. That being said I find myself actually using this one. It was easy to get up and running on android *(I'm a nerd, but it really just worked). The big benefit is that I scheduled the purifier to run on Medium when I'm not in the room (which happens to be my office), and then turn back to Auto before I return. When I get back to my office the air smells and feels noticeably better than the rest of the house. Plus being able to tell alexa to turn up the purifier just seems cool. It will be more useful when I stick a second one of these in my daughters room and I can turn it to low for white noise without having to enter the room. So yeah I returned the 411 Auto. ... show more
