  • Very good entry level microphone
I have the Nano and this Yeti. The Nano is good with an arm but literally needs to be about one inch from your mouth to pick up sound. So, I added the Yeti as a desktop mount in its cradle for a little more comfort. It really is far superior to the Nano. The sound quality overall is better. I can put the microphone to the side of my desk on cardioid and still pick up great sound. The different settings are helpful for us as we do tabletop interviews so we can use surround sound or two-way function, both of which work well. While the Nano is the newer more compact version, i probably wont use my nano anymore as this really is far better. I would advise anyone to choose a Yeti over a Yeti Nano. It is bigger but weight is about the same and the height of the microphone actually is an advantage. One note, the customer support for Blue is miserable. They have a lot of gatekeepers to go through before you get to someone who can actually help you. The first step in customer service is a really, really, REALLY dumb email testing function where they make you basically switch your microphone on and off and delete, download, upload any software, ONE EMAIL AT A TIME. I spent about 4 hours with support before I finally got incredibly mad at which point the rep submitted a ticket and I had to wait another 2 days for servce. I am giving 3 stars here for the suppporrt not the product. Product is great and good value for money but the support is lousy and will make you crazy. Buyer beware! . ... show more

  • its Alright ig
well first and for most please go to your sound settings on pc then click below your yeti saying device properties, then advanced device properties, should pop up more settings, go to advanced and make sure it says DVD quality not cd quality, if says cd click and change to DVD it makes the mic sound a lot better. anyway enough with the tips this mic will pick up on everything you do and I mean everything if you live in a noisy house/environment this mic isn't for you sure you can help reduce that by lowing ur gain completely but that simply wont be enough I recommend getting the hyper x mic it doesn't pick up a lot like this mic does and it sounds good but if you live alone and are in your own house this will be perfect choice. ... show more

  • Great quality microphone for your money!
The Blue Yeti is one of the easiest microphones to use on the market today. Once you pull the beautifully designed microphone out of it's packaging you can easily connect it to your pc or laptop by using the USB that is included in the box. Once you have connected the yeti it works almost instantly, it has multiple buttons and dials to mute, change volume, gain control, even a dial to change the pattern of the audio to get different qualities ex.(singing, podcasts and others). As many other people have stated it has one of the clearest and articulated sound from a USB and is the standard of desktop microphones. The Yeti comes with an aux port for your headphones if needed, with a port in the bottom in case you wish to take it off its adjustable stand and attach it to a suspension or boom stand. With this many features and sound quality, it is completely worth the money it cost to purchase. ... show more

  • I've bought three. Best (easy) mic for recording videos or gaming
I've bought three of these. I am an educator with a flipped classroom and record all of my live instruction and this mic made that process so easy. Even if you are not super tech savy, this mic allows you to get the right sound without any fuss. I tried recording on other headsets or with usb lapel mics and they jsut don't work 1/10th as well as the Yeti Blue mic does. I use one setting to record videos and another (omni) to record class conversations. Just the presence of an official looking mic changes the classroom. The students love using the mic. I let me eSports club use the mic when they stream their rocketleague matches and tutorials. They love using this mic. Without breaking the bank you get a professional mic with a really good compressor. The Yeti snowball is good as well, but I really love the quality of the Yeti Blue. Great for educators and great for gaming. ... show more

I'm not big on leaving reviews but i had to in this case... About two weeks ago I decided to get a better mic for my iMac since i like making and receiving calls using FaceTime Audio. I didn't think i needed anything special so I ordered a cool looking Marantz retro mic, just to find out that people on the other end could barely understand what i was saying. While returning the Marantz I ordered Blue Snowball (in chrome). Kinda cool looking mic, seemed like good built quality too, but again the sound quality wasn't that great and people on the other end made it known. So I decided to try Blue Yeti (in slate). Now people I talk to comment on how clear they hear me (while i sit about 3 feet away and talk normally). While the mic is large and heavy it is of solid build quality and looks amazing. I was going to try Shure mic next but there's no need. This one's a winner! ... show more

  • Best mic for teleconferencing
I got this to try voice acting but have only used it for work so far. I only telecommute and occasionally have to jump in video conferences or voice chat for screenshares, and I am constantly receiving compliments from clients on my audio quality. I've got a scissor boom hooked to my desk and keep the foam sock over it, with the direction knob set to the circle icon. ... show more

  • Very nice quality and sound when used properly
When buying this I would suggest buying it bundled with a boom arm, a pop filter, and wind screen as it helps clear the sound and having the mic closer with the boom arm helps. I recommend when using the 3rd recording setting to turn the gain all the way down as the mic is fairly sensitive. I’ve had no problems and I really love the mic ... show more
