I purchased this kit for simplicity of use and set up and based upon reviews. I have a RING device set up in an alternative location. After just a few days of use, here are my take-aways for the Blink technology: Pros: cost efficient (relatively) easy set-up ability to use battery and not wired nice visibility and audio on recordings ability to schedule motion detection across week/days Cons: *inability to set a schedule to specific device. schedule applies to whole system. Would LOVE to have the exterior cameras identify motion detection 24/7, but the interior only at certain days/times. Specifically would prefer to schedule each camera separately, AND have a button to put all cameras on same schedule. BLINK/Amazon, please look into this as an update. *notification settings. would like to have the ability to identify notifications per camera not per system. receiving too many notifications in the day, but do not want to turn off notifications entirely. *share access to others. You have to provide your login to friend/family member in order to have them share access - and therefore their phone login settings change your settings.     • Do not purchase if you want local storage and no plan.
The cameras seem to work well, and if you subscribe to a plan the storage of clips and backups work well. Do not purchase this product if you expect to be able to store clips locally and not subscribe to one of blinks plans. The customer service tried to help me, sent a new sync module, still no clips stored locally. If you pay for a plan the back-ups store fine to the usb-drive. No plan, no usb-storage locally. Got the “it’s your network” line a few too many times. If it was a network problem, why does it work perfectly with a plan????? ... show more

Purchased doorbells for front and back six+ months ago. Felt secure until neighbors lost a bike at 2 AM which was caught on my doorbell Blink.
