First off I read several reviews stating that the factory speakers "sounded better" than these. I used to be a professional installer and the only way that is possible is if the factory head unit is pushing an 8 ohm impedance and then, yeah, you are going to have to push the volume up more to get the same volume out of these. However, if you do things right and replace the factory head unit with a 4 ohm unit like you should the impedance will match and these sound good. Far better than the factory set up. Can you drop these in with our replacing your factory radio and they sound better? Sure! A lot of factory radios are now pushing a 4 ohm impedance. But if it's not you will notice you have to turn the volume up higher to get the same volume. This is perfectly safe for the speakers by the way. Also, just because you have to push the volume more doesn't mean they don't sound better. It is about how efficiently the cones move the air! These are three way speakers. They were incredibly good at reproducing all the highs and mids I expected to hear as I worked through the frequencies on the EQ. Second a lot of people complained about the mounting template not being there and that there was crappy speaker wires supplied. Again, can you use what came with it? Yes. Should you? No. If you are replacing factory speakers just do yourself a favor, make it easy and buy the wiring harnesses. And as far as the templates go you shouldn't mount metal to metal when installing the speakers. Buy the mounting brackets made for your car. It makes installation sound better and go easier. If you don't have a speaker clip on your speakers because a DIY'er installed speakers and cut the clip off then get a good quality speaker wire and use that instead of the pig tails that come with them. Think about it. The manufacturer supplies those knowing that if they didn't the complaint would be, "they didn't even supply wires!" But by all means spend a few bucks and get better speaker wire or the factory harness with clip. Also use the plastic speaker mounting brackets for your car. They will help with the proper air flow for the speaker and you won't have metal on metal. When was the last time you saw a metal speaker box? It should not be mounted directly to the door. If you do you deserve the sound you get. In conclusion I have always been a blue dot guy. Their quality isn't what it was in the 90s and early 2000's. But for the money? These are great. Great price, great value, and good sound for the price! ... show more

For the money I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. I bought 2 pairs of these and a deck for a used car for my wife and I got to admit they sound clear, crisp and got great vocal range for the price. The fitment was great, needed some tweaks, but that's cause of my car, not the speakers. The only flaw u can notice in sound is the lows, to much bass and you'll notice it, so I'd recommend a seperasub. But overall great sounding for the money ... show more

This speaker has a much bigger magnet than my factory ones, also better cones & do have great mid to high end range. However, low range is only for low volume. In my 08 Honda Civic LX I had one non-functioning speaker (factory) and one I found was nearly broken all the way through but still functioning. In other words I had to change my speakers. These were a good deal and I'm overall happy with the price and purchase but in the end my factory speakers sounded better. ... show more

I have put these in my vehicle and they say 6.5 but they are not what they say. They are smaller the. 6.5. They don’t produce the sound they do, the rear ones are already blown after a few weeks on a factory unit and the front are on there way out.
