Easy to use. Blocks light. Enhances contrast. 1. Measure, and cut an inch or two larger than you need 2. Spray the glass and the film with a little water (a drop or two of soap shaken in the water will lower the surface tension of the water for fewer bubbles) 3. Use a credit card, putty knife, or other thin, rigid tool to apply 4. Take a bare razor blade across each side to trim excess I used this for a few aquariums. The black can work really well - I think it's great on the tank shown - but I'd going to redo another with a translucent blue because in some cases the black is too stark. The black can really make embers, rubys, and chilis stand out, but if you have otos, well, you might never see them again. ... show more

I put this on my bedroom window as the sun beats in my room in late afternoon and it is too hot to sleep when it is bedtime. So far it has works wonderfully. Fairly easy to install with a little patience. Have not tried to remove it so can't speak to that portion and the only adhesion is you spray the window with water with a few drops of dish soap in it and the spray the outside of the film again and the rest is just working the bubbles out. It really takes 2 people to do a good job so the material doesn't adhere to the window until you are ready for it to. Love it. ... show more

I'd give it zero stars if I could. It was very easy to apply, but despite being meticulous about cleaning the glass and making sure it was dry and dust free before I applied it, within hours it was peeling away from the windows. At first I thought it was because the piece was too big and heavy, but even a 6" x12" piece came down. You get what you pay for. ... show more

I bought this for my bathroom window. I tried another brand and thought it would work, but when I went outside at night I could see everything inside when the light was on. Since I take my showers in the early morning when it's still dark out that would not work. I decided to try this. It's thicker than I expected it to be, but it blocks everything out. So, i had blackout fabric hanging up. It collected dust and looked bad. But it was a cheap option to get a few yards from the fabric store and use for 3rd shift. Well, 3rd shift ended and we still don't like the sunshine. Got 1 roll of this. applied to a window 34.6 wide by 48 or something. 1 roll was all that would do. We applied it wrong, it was our fault. But it still seems ok. We'll do better on the next two rolls I need to order. My advice, get a box cutter, or utility knife with a NEW blade to cut, use window cleaner, and make sure to flatten the air out with a credit card or binder. Over all...won't need dusty fabric up, blocks out the light, and does not look like a trash bag. I'll be ordering decorative privacy cling for our kitchen remodel too. ... show more

Used this to black out 3 sides of my 18x18x24 White's Tree Frog enclosure. Works like a charm. 1.) Cut the tint 2in bigger than your desired size 2.) Spray the glass generously with soapy water 3.) Attach painter's tape to both sides of one corner of the tint and peel to remove the backing 4.) Spray the back of the tint with some soapy water 5.) Attach to the window and squeegee in a T/L shape with a solid object like a credit card 6.) If wrapped around a corner, tape the sides down to get some tension to make it easier to cut to size. An exactoknife is preferable but I used a box cutter. My cutting wasn't super straight but it's fine for my use. I did one side at a time and cut where the black sealant in the enclosure can mask where the tint ends. It's been several days and the tint hasn't lifted or creased.
