Easy to assemble, instructions are a little vague on which bolts go where. Was missing 3 lock washers. Does not come with bolts to mount engine, I didn't expect this, just stating for reference. This is a light duty engine stand, rated for only 750 pounds. I would not try to exceed that. It works perfect for my tractor's 3 cylinder diesel. 360 rotation makes easier to rebuild. ... show more

I much prefer the design of this engine stand in comparison of others. (Torin, Big Red) the other brands do have a thicker mounting plate though. But in my opinion, the way the bar in the back attaches to the legs and vertical head is sturdier, and more modular. It attaches with square tubing that the other pieces slots into. (I haven't tried it out yet, so it may allow for more wiggling of the head and legs, due to the tubing the pieces slots into being slightly oversize. *could be a bit of a tighter fit*) but even considering that, it seems studier imo. The other brands just use a piece of angle iron to bolt the legs to the back bar. Which leaves it unsupported on the bottom. Other brands also just bolt on the vertical. That seems more prone to bending/tearing out of the tubing imo. The wheel design seems better as well. All 4 are 4 bolt flanged swivel casters with cast iron wheels. Other brands have 2 straight wheels you pin in place, and stud mounted swivels in the front. On an engine stand, I prefer all 4 to swivel. Easier to maneuver. There were a few minor cons though. The mounting plate is not quite as thick as other brands (it will still be plenty, I'm sure) The holes to spin the head are a little off, causing it to sit slightly crooked, not much though. It came missing a few washers from the included hardware, no big deal. There is the occasional burr edge, and or weld spatter that you need to knock off. ... show more

Good price. Due to the 3 legs if you try to torque a damper for example it will tilt so be carefull.

Husband loves this. He recently had to pull his motor out of his old pickup truck to do some repairs. This was so helpful and made it easier for him. Definitely recommend for any mechanic to have at home when doing major repairs.

More than half of the pieces for the engine stand were missing on arrival, could not assemble the product. That said the stand is solidly built just missing most of its parts.

10 bucks cheaper than what you'll get at harbor freight, thats about all it's got goin for it. Mine was missing bolts and washers and the hand grip for the bar to turn motor over.

This is a replacement as I thought I was done rebuilding engines I got rid of the one I had I got this because I thought I had an engine to rebuild but turns out I don't. Now I just have it for the next project, good quality simple engine rebuild stand.
