  • Mechanic and Engineer Approved
Former automotive mechanic and now a design engineer. I have used a lot standard floor jacks, speed jacks, semi jacks, etc. I haven't ever used an ATV or motorcycle jack. I looked at Menards, Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, O'Reilly's, Auto Zone, Car Quest, even Harbor Freight and read as many reviews as I could. What I found are a lot of cylinder issues and structural issues. I even read about disappointments due to mistreatment like compaining about cylinder bleed down /creep over an extended period of having units jacked up. I disregarded those comments. Use jack stands and the safety latches built into most units. Car lifts use the same mechanical stops. Most of those have never fail designs that must be manually switched off. This unit has that mechanism as well. I noted right away that the jack itself is packaged to lay on it's side when the box is rested on anything other than the smallest ends of the box. It leaked oil and the box was stained from hydraulic oil. Assembly was easy. Read the directions on how trial fit the use rather than trying instantly use it and found the hydraulic system needed refilled and bled, just like any other hydraulic system. No problem, 5 min later the jack was being used. Structurally, it performs as required. The four bar linkage, as designed, looks exactly how I would want it designed. The safety latches are designed appropriatly and have various heights that make sense based on suspension travel. Hydraulics system is correctly sized. I would recommend this unit to someone looking for a smart buy who understands that ATV jacks aren't as commonly sold as standard floor jacks and may need to be adjusted after delivery due sitting on a shelf for an extended period. ... show more

Love this jack!

  • Stable enough for my 800+ pound bagger
The box included all parts for a 10 minute assembly. Basic tools made it easy. The lift has mechanical stop so the device can be locked with the weight of the motorcycle on steel, not relying on the jack. I have my 800+ pound Harley Davidson touring bike on the lift and I was able to remove both wheels at the same time, and the entire front end. The lift is very stable. I only added the tie down strap after I was finished working on the bike and waiting for my parts to get back from powder coat. It has been on the lift over a week and has not moved. The lift also has wheels and wheel lock. I found it easy to move the lifted bike while on the lift to get it out of the way. So far the lift is working exactly as I expected it would. ... show more

  • Quality lift, very cheap handle
The quality of the lift itself is on-point. No issues to speak of. Works very well. Feels very solid. The connection that attaches the moving handle to the lift body is incredibly loose and wobbly. Works well enough but feels cheaply designed, just at that connection. Otherwise it'd be an easy 5/5 in my book. ... show more

  • Just What He Wanted
Just what he wanted. Works well with our zero turn mower.

  • Easy to move the bike on this stand.
Perfect for winter storage and moves on the stand easily. Received the Jack Stand today. Nice heavy jack. Took about 30 minutes to assemble, easy stuff with an open-faced wrench, Phillips and an Allen wrench. Using it for winter storage for a Harley Softail Deluxe maybe 700 Lbs. You can move the bike on the stand as needed with no problem. Its slides easy on the concrete floor. Just what I wanted and worth the $200.00 so you can move the bike on the stand as needed while it's in for the winter. ... show more

  • The Jack works
You will need hydraulic jack fluid, it's like 5 to 8 bucks at any auto parts store. Another reviewer mentioned that these jacks likely sit for a while, and I believe they are exactly right. I Used this to lift a Harley, mine is slightly lowered so I push the rear wheel up on a moving blanket to get underneath. My Jack has a slight bend in the bar holding the safety stops in place. It needs a bit of fiddling to get both in the right spot but gets the job done. After some assembly it looks sturdy, it just won't work and sounds squeaky. Get somewhere you wouldn't mind cleaning up a spill, and fill it with hydraulic jack fluid . To stop the squeak, I put a little fluid on the Piston that the foot pedal moves as well. Done. ... show more

  • Not what I was expecting
This is very minimal assembly involved in set up. Took less than 5 minutes. Here's what jumped out at me- The hydraulic jack itself that is used is bottom end in quality. Going to be interesting to see it hold up in daily use. Be sure to check all the pre- assembled nuts and lock pins, hydraulic fluid also. The caster's used are also VERY bottom end. Some were even missing bearings in them. These are getting replaced. So time to lift the motorcycle. 83 HD FX. With the bike up mid-way there's a lot of instability (movement) in the structural framing compared to my other lift's, that's because the rectangular HSS box tube used in the framing is only 1-1/2" x1" x1/8" Most are 2"x1"x1/8". So lock it down or be careful ! Next is the T-handle, When pushing and under load of the bike the round tubing wants to start to bend a little, that along with the slop in the top collar make it somewhat difficult to maneuver in small areas. Handle should be of thicker grade round tubing for the diameter it is. My guess is this stand was built to minimum spec with the cheapest hardware to achieve its rating. Compare a picture of the craftsman 50190 and this one for a better understanding of my review. Hope this helps ... show more
