First, they are very smooth polished stones and very nice looking. We bought these for a fish/frog tank, so I don’t know how well these would work with plants. One thing I did not expect was how the fish “droppings”, and the green algae that grows, would settle in between the rocks. Because the rocks are larger than smaller pebbles (that are traditionally used in aquatic animal tanks), the green slime was able to build up faster than we expected. Therefore, the tank needed to be cleaned more frequently than when we had used smaller pebbles.

I purchased three bags of the River Rocks for Plants 5.5 LB Small Decorative Pebbles 1"—1.5" Polished Stones in Natural Color. I rinsed them multiple times before adding to my already-established tank. I had to get larger stones because my goldfish grew too large for regular aquarium tank rocks. They were picking them up, and I was afraid one of them would get choked. The RIVER ROCKS I purchased were exactly as advertised, and I am extremely satisfied with them. I will definitely repurchase them because I am changing my tank decorations again. #theridiculouscattery

I bought these rocks so my Goldfish could have some natural pretty rocks. I washed them thoroughly and within a day they turned the water milky white. Okay, probably normal, it will fade in a few days. No it didn't, so I changed the water again and lo and behold I once again have milk for water? Maybe I made a mistake and got the wrong kind of rocks but seriously people, they are just rocks and shouldn't have this effect on water. Won't be buying this crap again
