After grieving, one of the first things I did was start looking for a heavy-duty collar for my other dog, Mango. After a lot of research, I found this Black Rhino collar and honestly I'm in LOVE with it. It seems incredibly durable. I love the buckle so that there is no slip & slide. Other collars loosen easily. This buckle feature makes it to where you know it's not going anywhere. The soft plush on the inside makes it comfortable for him. It's pretty lightweight and easy to put on. I also love that there is straps to tuck the remaining collar into so it's not just loose. Also there's another metal ring to have the dog tag on. I liked it fits my to name plate and it is sturdy. I like that they have a belt like hook, my dogs pull on each others collars while playing. I can not get the collars that can tighten up with tugging. So these work great. They are soft and comfortable.

My husband wasn't so keen on the pink with the black, but oh well, it wasn't for him...LOL. I bought her a name tag that is also pink so she matches....LOL. Our female pit/lab mix goes into a stream almost daily and we found that leather collars just don't hold up to her pulling on the leash or her chain (when we take her out somewhere where we need to chain her up). She broke the last leather collar just with one jerk (an expensive Hamilton). The d-ring just ripped through the leather. This collar seems to be holding up well. It gets wet and she has jerked on the d-ring a few times but it has stayed intact. I think part of the issue with the leather ones is that it doesn't dry fast enough. This collar dries quicker. Another issue is that most leather collars are heavier and not as wide. This one is light weight and wider, which helps if we walk her on the leash versus her harness. I would suggest these to someone who has a medium to large dog. ... show more

The collar is soft on the underside, so it's comfortable for our dog. Seems strong and doesn't shred when he scratches it with his hind foot. I would recommend it.

Ordered about 3 months ago, and my husky has worn it every day since. It has held up well, no complaints on the durability. If you like the style (the two-toned) then know that the color holds well even after throwing into the washing machine.
