This is a great concept and for the price it is a good value. For the most part, it is a functional boat net that is less likely to get snagged on hooks. Further, it is collapsible for those who either travel light or heavy, and space is at a premium. I really like the fact that its overall length can be adjusted to individual needs. The net is also coated rubber to reduce the chances that fishing time is lost trying to pull barbed hooks out of one's net. However, there are a few design challenges. The first is that the net is collapsible through a rubber cord at the top of the net. Some may think this is not a big deal but I've seen how this can be the difference between boating a fish or helping to unintentionally free a hook. I prefer my nets to have a solid top to ensure that the fish is brought into net - and sometimes a last minute dive or an extra fraction of an inch matters more than us anglers would prefer. Also, I wish the slide that folds the net work extend further up into the net structure to provide greater stability. This is more important when netting larger fish (large pickerel, pike, hefty largemouth) or when the handle is fully extended. Lastly, there is foam around the rim of the net. I am unsure of its purpose - whether floatation or consistent diameter around the net - however, this will not hold up to hooks. Outside of those potential design enhancements, this net serves its purposes with a few neat features. This fishing net is convenient because it can fold into a compact size. No more worrying about space saving tactics to get all your gear to fit in the car. It has a telescoping handle with a bungee style cord that can be clipped onto something (i.e. your belt or a hook on a boat). The handles have comfortable foam grips in two areas. They rest in convenient locations that one would likely hold a fishing net. The net conveniently floats if it is dropped in the water due to sewn in foam rolls located along mesh head. It has a cloth material measuring strip inside the middle of the net that starts at 0 at the center and ends at 14 on both ends of the net. This is convenient for measuring the length of a caught fish without needing to take out a ruler. The adjustable mesh head is a little inconvenient because you need to loosen the handle in order to adjust the mesh head and handle angle, then tighten the handle to keep the position intact. However, I have noticed that the handle sometimes gets loose on its own and the net/handle would either create a lower acute angle or a much higher obtuse angle than intended. This could be fixed by tightening the handle more than you want/think is needed, but it may become harder to loosen later. Otherwise, this fishing net works great for our fishing trips. ... show more

This net is perfect for kayaks or canoes. It folds up well and extends to a good length for fishing in smaller vessels. The netting itself is coated in a rubber material, which will extend the life of the net. It even has a clip on a bungee on the handle to leash it either to you or your boat. They should have left the built in length scale (aka tape measure) off. It is poorly placed and not very usable really. If anything, it distracts from the positives of this net. ... show more

I do a lot of urban canal fishing, where you hike along the canal and often land fish 3+ feet below the bank you are standing on. This net is terrific. It folds compact and hangs on my belt with the integrated clip so I can hike along and not even think about it. The extendable handle gives me sufficient length to bend down and grab fish well below the bank without being too unwieldy. The net hoop is a tad smaller than other similar nets I have with a fixed hoop, but is plenty big for the largemouth bass I'm catching. The head up by the net itself must be tightened to beyond what you think you will need. I landed a 5 pound bass and my net moved, it freaked me out but it was all on me. There is a lot of weight when you are pulling water and fish at first.

This fishing net has some great and unique features on it and I really like the green and black color combo. The foldable option on this net makes it very compact for packing it when hiking to your favorite fishing spot or for storage. The rubber coated netting is probably not safe for catch and release of trout since it will take the slime off the fish, but I don't know if that will affect other fish or not. There is a ruler built in to the inside of the net which is useless since the zero is in the middle of the net, not on one side. The net is very lightweight and extends easily when needed. The handle is a soft but firm foam for a secure grip and there is an elastic leash with plastic clip on the end of the handle. It is a bit difficult to fold down the net since the latch is very tight to push and you have to bend one side down at a time since there is not a solid frame around the entire net. The front of the net is not part of the tubular frame and is held together by what looks like plastic beads which is a bit different. The sides of the net frame are wrapped with grey foam similar to what you see for pipe insulation, so durability of that over time could be an issue. The diameter and depth of the net will hold small to good sized fish but certainly not large fish like pike or musky. There is a plastic clip on the pole for securing the net to a pack or bag. Overall this is a great fishing net for the low price and I feel this is an awesome value which I recommend to all other anglers. Just don't expect to land a shark or marlin with it! ... show more
