Compared to marker pens, this paint pen is more resistant to accidentally rubbing off. It will write on a variety of surfaces but using it on soft plastic (polyethylene) is really a challenge for any kind of marker. I labeled a bunch of such containers with both this paint pen and with regular permanent black markers. I was able to rub away the permanent marker with my finger but the white paint pen lettering stayed. Alcohol was able to erase both the black marker and the white paint marker from the polyethylene.

These worked great for our dresser rehab project. My son wanted a football dresser with a football field top. 😳 Wasn’t sure how I was going to get nice clean lines until I saw these paint pens. They worked perfectly for our project and have been holding up great! Just make sure to shake them often while using. Each pen lasts quite a long time as well.

I like that the pen has a fine tip (0.7mm) on one end, and a thick tip (3mm) on the other to make it versatile in its utility. When you first use it, you have to push down on it a couple of times until you see the paint flow onto the top. The pen writes well on many surfaces, even a soda can (see picture) which is usually hard to write on with other mediums. Once dry, it stays on very well, even when trying to scrape it off with a fingernail. I use it to label my insane number of power supplies so that I know which goes with what.
