I am getting really good at hanging shades! This style is worth every penny and the end result is well worth the beauty and use of this shade. It takes 4 screws to hang the contraption. The box at the top holds the shade with counterweight and it does it exceptionally well and is highly recommended. The pulling down and pushing up is a far better strategy than playing russian roulette with the old spring loading shades that always give in with use and time. It's never a good thing when you hear this violent episode happen, as the scream coming from gramps is far louder than the daffy duck looking flap flap flap that will put you into yet another chore to rewind and rehang. These shades do block out light, they just aren't very nice looking, but they do the job. They are super easy to install. I missed the fact that it used metal clips to hold the shade up when you want to roll it up but it works.

Installing this blackout curtain was probably the smoothest and most hassle-free curtain installation I've ever done. It was just a matter of adhering it to the space above the window. The blackout curtain is a nice, bright white and provides ample blackout protection from the sun. I work the second shift, so I often mess up my sleep schedule and wind up sleeping during the day, and this works perfectly for lounging and resting when it's daytime out and the sun is just too bright. ... show more

This works but it depends on the type of window you have. This for some reason just wouldnt stay up for me and i think it is the type of paint that is painted on the border around my window. However, I feel like it should be able to deal with that. The curtain I wish came rolled instead of folded how it was because it made the material harder to deal with when trying to hang up. I am impressed with this blackout blind. It installs in "5" minutes, with no tools needed. Moreover, I attached it directly to top of window, and adherence is great. Furthermore, coverage in blocking light/sun is exceptional. The kit includes a material measuring tape to assist in the proper placement. I purchased two more of the blinds subsequent to receiving this order, and I am about to order two more. Of course, these blinds are not meant to convey any type of fashion/decorative statement, they are very basic and simply serve their function completely and are quite utilitarian. The current price point of $13.99, less a 10% coupon, for A net price of roughly $12.50 is extremely good in view of quality of material and the expected longevity of the product. The blackout aspect of these curtains is very good. I am very pleased with this, as I want to block out as much light as possible where I have the curtain. However, I have two gripes with them. One, adjusting the length of the curtain can be a bit of a pain. You have to be very careful and roll the curtain slowly or it might unravel. I've never used a curtain like this, so this may be commonplace but I'm not a fan of this. Secondly, the adhesive is downright disappointing. The curtain doesn't weigh much but mine fell off the window three days in. I followed the instructions, yet the adhesive just wasn't good enough to stick for a long time. I'm going to adjust and use pins or hooks to keep it up but this isn't something that I think should have to happen. It's still probably worth the price as long as you are aware that there are a few issues that could arise. ... show more
