Size: 0.9 Cu. Ft. Pattern Name: Washer
First, when it was delivered to me I had to cut the plastic things off. Then I was trying to manuever the box to see the best way to cut it and where. To my surprise, I only needed to lift the box up, after taking out the styrafome. Then I unpacked it. The hardest step was taking the sink connection apart and finding out how exactly to connect it to the sink. Several Youtube videos helped me with that. Next step was connecting the water hose to the sink with the adaptor attached to the sink. You push down on the round, white thing while pushing up on the part under it. It is not hard to attach but to attach it correctly is challenging because you have to push up and hold the round, white thing down at the same time. It is not really that difficult but it is not so easy either. It finally cooperated. (Now, the more I connect it, the easier it gets.) I placed the water outlet tube in the sink and turned the water on. At this point, if the sink connection is not good, water will spew a little and/or drip. On the other hand, if it is well connected, it is amazing. The water will NOT come out until you turn the washer on, choose your 2 settings and press start. At that moment the washing machine will amazingly let the water flow from the sink. But at this point, watch where the other end of the hose connects to the washing machine. If it is not tight, it will leak. That has happened to me numerous times. Once the machine starts, just let it to its job. It is impressingly quiet while it works. Beware of where and how you leave the water hose where the water comes out. Twice it has slipped out of the sink and got water all over my floor. But you learn by doing and I now push it further down into the sink and observe the water when the machine starts emptying. It normally takes about 30 minutes to complete its wash cycle and spin. I have now used the machine for about 2 weeks and I AM satisfied!! My apt is small to I have to move the machine from the kitchen, over carpeting, the another room. To facilitate this, I bought a Vestil FWD 1824 3r fiberwood dolly with large wheels on Amazon. Mine came already assembled. It has made a big difference when trying to manuver the washing machine. Yes, the machine does have 2 wheels on the back, which are helpful, but with this dolly, moving it is much easier. Make sure to turn the water in your sink OFF before disconnecting the hose. One last comment: water CAN and does flow uphill! The water leaving the machine must go from the bottom of the washer to the top of my sink, which is a couple of feet. How it defies physics I do not know, Maybe it's some kind of air or water pressure. So, in summary, I am very surprised that the machine can control the water flow in my sink and that water pressure can flow up. I must also say that yesterday for the first time, I cleaned the filter in the tub of the machine. It was rather dirty. Getting it off was easy but getting it back on was difficult only because I had not taken a good look at exactly how the bag with the filter was placed. It took several attempts but I finally got it to snap. Now that I know, the next time will be quite easy. The whole process and everything involved is easy once you get some experience. Like anything else. When you remove the filter at the bottom of the machine, be careful. I think water that did not flow up to the sink collected there, so when I took it off for cleaning, a good but unexpectedly came out. Solution: put a bowl under the black filter before you unscrew it to remove it. So in conclusion, I would definitely recommend this machine. Size: 2.0 Cu. Ft. Pattern Name: Washer
I bought my 2 Cu ft Washer about 4 months ago. Pros: -it cleans clothes pretty well, gets most of the dirt and oil off of my clothes, comparable to a regular washer in that ability. -Small, fits in a nice 2’x2’ corner -Uses less than 10 gallons of water per tub fill on large load if you’re worried about the “water filled Furniture” clause in your apartment’s lease. - easy to set up, had to get an adapter for my bathroom sink and buy a slightly longer hose to reach it. - it does not make a lot of noise, atleast my neighbors haven’t complained, but I only run it between 7am-9pm just for good measure. - It can wash a Queen Size Comforter. - it can wash 3 large hoodies at a time with no balance issues . - it can wash 2 pairs of 34x30 denim jeans, I tried 3 once but it started shaking real bad from getting unbalanced. Didn’t get any warning about it being unbalanced though. - for regular Tshirts, Underwear, socks, towels, etc go ahead and fill up the tub, it won’t have an issue. Cons: -It is definitely rough on clothes, the delicate cycle isn’t delicate. I’ve noticed some excess wear and tear on my clothes since I’ve started using it. Nothing has been ripped to shreds yet, but if your clothes are really delicate i’d recommend hand washing instead of using this. - when using Hot water and trying to fill it up, it will not fill up all the way without encouragement. I have to keep pressing the start/stop button to get it to keep filling up to the appropriate level. On a large load it’s about 3 to 4 times. I only have it hooked up to the left hose inlet (the cold side that is supposed to be able to handle hot and cold if you have a single faucet). Kind of annoying but not a big deal, lot less annoying than going to the laundromat. - The lint trap on the side of the tub does not like to stay in place. It is made of plastic and the hook tab that holds it in place gets deformed after a couple cleanings. Pretty easy to fix though, just bend the hook tab back in place(carefully the plastic is more flexible than stiff but definitely a point of failure in the future). Have to do it every 2-4 lint trap cleanings. It not staying in place doesn’t seem to effect the ability or the discharge of the washer. Closing remarks: All in all, good washer. I’m very happy i bought it and besides the extra wear and tear on clothing and some minor annoyances as well as my paranoia of it leaking water (has had no leaks thus far) I absolutely love it. Very convenient, will definitely be saving some money. I also bought the sister 3.5 Cu Ft Black and Decker dryer and the stackable stand Black and Decker makes for it. The Dryer is absolutely amazing, 5 stars no complaints whatsoever, for the Queen comforter and pillows you’ll have to run 2 or 3 times but that’s to be expected. The stand seems a little iffy, not very sturdy but it hasn’t collapsed in the 4 months I’ve been using it so it’s alright. ... show more
