  • The Irishman's answer to a balanced diet
Color: Black
Apart from the occasional helping of frozen peas/ iceberg lettuce, I don't eat fruit or vegetables. But life caught up with me, and so about three years ago I began making fruit smoothies with superfoods etc. The idea is to turn the whole experience of eating rabbit food (as grand dad called it) into an experience not dissimilar from tearing off a band aid. Trying to find a blender that crushes ice and frozen fruit that doesn't break the bank is no mean feat. I had a smaller Black & Decker that was designed for smoothies for well over two years before it finally broke (after getting a daily workout). What can I say but that this gets the job done nicely and is reasonably priced. ... show more

  • DOESN'T CRUSH ICE
Color: Red
The media could not be loaded. This is advertised as being able to crush ice (which I wanted for frozen drinks). See the video for its actual "ice crushing" performance. It leaves the top ice largely uncrushed and turns the bottom ice into a frozen slurry that can only be removed with hot water. Hard pass. ... show more

  • I want my money back...
Color: Red
Pros; it's pretty, and very easy to clean. All parts come apart so i can either throw them in the dishwasher or hand wash them Cons; tried to chop some garlic but it didn't work, the whole garlic went under the blade and kept spinning. Ended up chopping it with a knife, took 30 sec. Tried to crush a cup of ice cubes but it didn't do. Half crushed and the blade kept spinning. Tried to make smoothie with frozen fruits and milk. After 30 sec, it smelled like plastic burning so i had to stop. Smoothie was yummy and nicely mixed. Yay! Then some wiered black liquid dripping from the bottom of the pitcher while pouring the smoothie into the cup. From the plastic? Washed in the dish washer 3 times, i found the mouth part of the pitcher chipped off. ... show more

We received this blender in January 2018. Seemed to work fine for 3 mos and then just stopped completely.

  • Nothing like the smell of a burning-out motor in the morning.
Color: Red
I bought this primarily to use for smoothies and for making my own nut milks (almond milk, etc). I like that the interior isn't hard to clean. I do not like that you can smell the odor of a motor working over-time when it's blending the nuts and milk or any seriously frozen fruit (let alone ice cubes added). It's definitely not a workhorse of a blender, but rather a blender for the fairly easy jobs of a typical kitchen. That burning-out motor smell after just its 3rd use is a bad sign... It is still working but it's certainly not going to replace my Ninja. And now I'm scared to use it for more than a quick whir, as more than that makes that smell of death happen. ... show more

  • NOT WORTH THE MONEY
Color: Black
I've had this blender for some time now but hardly used it. I already had a Nutribullet for smoothies and such. I finally found a use for it, blending the ingredients for low carb fruit and yogurt popsicles. It seemed to work pretty well, however, I found it was very difficult to clean. There is a deep moat around the blade and there was no way to get the bottom off and the blade out of there to clean it. I did my best with brushes, etc. but there was still residue. Then, I noticed that the white ring in the moat at the bottom had cracked. I worried about bacteria and leakage and at that point I stopped using it. Even the top is hard to clean. Stuff gets into the groves and it takes a lot to get it out. It is really heavy as well. So, don't waste your money. Just because something costs more doesn't mean it is better! I just ordered a cheaper blender from another manufacturer because I don't want to stop making popsicles! ... show more

  • Works great, no problems; prefer this to single-serve "bullet" blenders
Color: Black
I bought this blender to replace my 6yo Black & Decker blender that finally started smelling like burnt electricity, so I trashed that one and bought this. Very similar, works great. When I make smoothies, I prefer to make a whole large blender full so I can have 2-3 large drinks that day or the next. If I'm going to mess up my kitchen cutting up fruit, adding a cup of nonfat yogurt, etc., I don't want just one serving. To make a healthy smoothie, I first put some nonfat milk and a cup of nonfat plain yogurt in the blender, then add chopped fresh and or frozen fruit, add about a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a couple packs of Splenda. Canned no-sugar peaches also work well, as does a ripe banana. I blend that together and then add a couple ice cubes at the end and blend until the ice no longer makes noise and it's ready. I've tried adding different veggies, but that tasted weird, but you can add chunks of unpeeled cucumber and that incorporated well. If you wish, you can add a pinch of flaxseed for more fiber. Fat free half'n'half also works in place of some of the FF milk to make it more creamy. If your smoothie tastes more milky than fruity, you can add a bit of fruity sugarfree drink mix. ... show more

  • I was looking for a smoothie maker/blender and this fit ...
Color: Black
I was looking for a smoothie maker/blender and this fit the bill. Crushes up ice cubes which many smoothie machines don't do well. Plus it is fairly light weight so I can lift it to my cabinet for storage.
