THis machine is great. Blower is strong and the vacuum is powerful. The collection bag holds quite a bit as it mulches as it sucks. The opening is large enough to empty the bag without a great deal of effort. Works much better is leafs are dry. Highly recommend. The only pain is the switchover from blower to vac. Really cool product. Very effective and sucking up leaves without ripping up the grass and doesn’t suck in much mulch either. Tough enough to handle small sticks too. I really appreciate that it has a backpack and the bag is easy to open/close and empty. The only reason I’m taking away a star is because it doesn’t mention that the cord is only 4 inches so you need a decent size extension cord for it to me useful ... show more

I'm very happy with this product! It cut my leaf clean up time dramatically! The suction power is just right. It easily picks up the leaves and small sticks. But in the landscaping, none of the rocks are picked up. In my city, burning leaves is illegal and the capacity of the yard waste bin is limited. This device grinds up the leaves so that disposal capacity is no longer an issue. The collection bag has an easy and effective closure device without a zipper to jam. I was concerned that the impellor is plastic, but it really is heavy duty. If pressed for negatives I would say the cord is a nuisance, but for the power, I'd still take that over a battery. Overall, very happy and I'd definitely buy it again... ... show more

This works great as a mulcher. I would have given 5 stars, but just before the 2 years was up, it stopped working. Nothing happens. I tried to contact Black and Decker for a repair within the 2 year time frame, and they wouldn't get back to me. When it did work, it sucked up leaves and mulched them pretty small. It didn't suck up the rocks I have in my yard, so that was awesome, especially because lots of leaves get in the rocks. ... show more

Reviewing after 1 year of use. I got a new house, and it has several large mature trees. This does really well with picking up leaves and some small debris like small sticks. Despite the propeller being made from plastic (which I was worried) it has held up just fine with my use. I have a pine tree in my front yard, which means year-long pine needles falling onto my river rock landscaping. It does pick up pine needles, sort-of, and barely. It tries to pick them up, but it only gets some of them no matter how hard I try. I switch to blow mode, and if the needles are on my driveway or sidewalk they blow fine, but if they are in/on my river rock, they don't really budge. I still don't have a good way of truly cleaning up these pine needles. Ugh. The backpack is light and I find it comfortable. Switching from suck to blow isn't my favorite, but I suppose it's as easy as it could be. Overall I like this for the price. ... show more
