This works so well. It makes easy work of small branches. My backyard gets overrun with weeds that basically grow into trees. I call them weed trees. This made such easy work of them. But it's a little scary to use, it's easy to get going fast and get on a roll. It's very satisfying how easily it cuts, but you really need to make sure your other hand holding the branch is far away from the cutter. This cutter has some serious power and the cut happens fast. Go slow and take your time getting into position. If you need to hold the branch, keep your fingers and hand at a good distance. One thing I will note is that when you pull the trigger there is a spark or flash of light that you can see from the back. Unbelievable tool, pruned a three year neglected memorial garden at church, 4 hours later , I was still pruning, same charge on the battery, 3 , 90 gallon garden carts full of clippings, my body was worn out, but the pruner was ready for more.

This tool is Powerful but take care and take your time. Keep your free hand well clear of the jaws and remove the battery when not using it. Don't let kids near it. That being said, it will make short work of your pruning chores. Even inch thick branches are cut in less than a second. A job that usually takes me an hour took 10 minutes. This is the best garden tool I've ever bought. Pruning is suddenly easy and very satisfying. I had used my Black &Decker pole chain saw to shorten my very tall fruit trees, A plum, apple and pear. I needed to cut the limbs up to reclaim my back yard. I tried manual loppers, but that took two hands to cut and a third to position the branch. It was cumbersome and tiring. I bought this model so I could share batteries with my pole saw and weedeater. Now I have six batteries and two chargers and I run out of steam before they do. One inch branches snip off without thinking and larger ones just take another couple trigger pulls. It is actually fun to use and I found myself making piles of checkers just for fun. Easier than fixing my electric chipper. This pruner is life changing, especially for old geezers, like me. Loppers make my arms hurt, but I can pull a trigger all day long. This would be a great gift, too, for someone with trees, or who plays checkers. Its powerful enough to cut fence wire, or the errant finger, so be careful. ... show more

I wish I had bought these 20 years ago. Due to back injuries I am unable to spend significant time working our property. These make up for it by allowing me to trim trees and bushes back quickly. I will warn folks to make sure you are not pressing the safety lever when walking around. Let it ride in between your fingers so that the weight of the clippers doesn't make it open and close as you walk. There is no doubt about these going through a finger in a heartbeat. I was trimming honeysuckle interwoven with a chainlink fence. These cut through the fence like it was overcooked spaghetti. I was trying to only get the plant so a little resistance would have allowed me to stop before the metallic snap. Absolutely happy with this purchase. I ran into an issue that I believe is something everyone should know. Some folks were having a hard time finding replacement blades even while trying to go through the manufacturer. Excellent product. Using battery it came with, I am over 200 cuts and still going strong. If branch is too thick, it only takes up to 4 triggers to break through the branch. The weight is not an issue. It’s a lot lighter than my pole saw. I am highly satisfied with it.
