I just cannot say enough about how I love using this chargeable pruner. There are so many large shrubs that have outgrown where they were planted, after our having experienced two tornadoes just three years apart. This pruner is lightweight, easy to use and cuts through 1" diameter (or probably larger, but have not tried) masses of limbs. It is actually FUN to use these and see the quick results. It would have cost several hundred dollars to hire someone to clean off this overgrown bed of shrubs, but now it will be easy. The price was great and the included charger can be used for my 10-year-old B&D weed eater as well. This tool is certainly a game changer!

I couldn’t initially justify purchasing these shears until I had a big project. They are really fun to use. If you have a lot of shrubs that require lower limb clipping, this is definitely for you. It saves so much time. It keeps you from developing pain or fatigue in your hands, too. I have many shrubs that have older, thick limbs that are nearly impossible to clip with manual shears. These shears make it seem like you are cutting through butter. I now truly enjoy my pruning projects.

This works really well. It beat my expectations. It trimmed the bottoms down of 5 crepe myrtles without any problems. For light to medium duty electric loppers, these fit the bill just right.

This isn't a heavy duty electric pruning shears but it works well for what it was designed to do. It easily cuts through branches an inch or so thick. I did with this $90 shears over a couple of weekends what I paid more than $1,800 to hire a professional to do on a tree and several shrubs 3 years ago (he did a better job aesthetically but I'm okay with my effort). The only negative is that it heats up which I gather is normal while using it continuously for over an hour at a time.

Absolutely love this tool for trimming branches up to thumb size and maybe twice that if you cut half then half again!! Volunteer trees on our shoreline, lilac bushes, wild thick weeds, branches, etc,., cut quickly and easily. Don’t know how I got along without it.

My yard has become overgrown with small trees that love to volunteer. I actually strained my right hand from hours of use with a regular trimmer because there is SO much to cut. That's why I researched powered trimmers. I chose this one since I already have some of the other B&D 20v MAX tools so have an array of batteries. I am blown away by how well this works! It effortlessly cuts through good-sized branches and small trees that would have been much too large for the manual trimmer and using the reciprocating saw was always jarring (and required more grip strength from me). While this is on the heavy side, I find I have no problem supporting the bottom where the battery is with one hand while squeezing the trigger with the other. The trigger requires almost no pressure which is great for me, but you should also be mindful of where the blades are because i could see where this would easily sever a finger. 10/10 recommend! My only regret is not buying one sooner. UPDATE: One year into using this, it began making a loud clicking/banging sound. It has a two-year warranty so I contacted Black & Decker (no easy feat as their customer service was hard to connect with). Once I did reach a human, they were pleasant and once I submitted my receipt and a couple of photos of the tool, they said they were shipping out a replacement. This was great as I was thinking I’d have to mail it in for repair and wait. I had the new replacement in my hands within a week - and they even included a battery! I’m not sure if this is a common issue with this pruner or if I just got a wonky one. Either way, B&D stood behind it.

i swore I would NEVER write another review because Amazon rejects 9 out of 10 of them, they seem to hate a direct account of what I think of a product, items, whatever and as an individual and not a business. I can't imagine many people buying as much as I do in a given month. BUT, the Black and Decker Pruning Shears, what a great piece of equipment, AWESOME PIECE. I actually didn't use it because I didn't want to get it dirty, but well made, sturdy, and you can tell it's built to last. PROBLEM??? ME!!! I'm 83, and with bike wrecks, years on a ranch, I got a couple of weak wrist. OH I could have managed for a little bit, but it's heavy, and heavy duty for you younger people who would have no problem at all. SO, I FULLY RECOMMEND IT.
