I love this light. This was a super affordable product versus other manufacturers. That said, be prepared to spend 3+ hours building and installing this fixture. Also beware that it is extremely fragile. The aluminum parts are pretty cheap and will bend if not supported properly. This 48 light black chandelier is gorgeous! Yes, there are a lot of parts and a lot of steps to assemble this chandelier and if you are careful, it is very sturdy and worth the $699 price tag! Due to remodeling time delays it will be several months before this chandelier is installed. Partly because the location where it is going to be installed is 30 foot high ceilings and scaffolding is being used elsewhere. So I will update this as soon as the chandelier is installed. I am so excited for it. I love it very much. We actually will need extension rods and additional wiring. I did notice that in the instruction manual as well as on this listing it doesn’t state anything about the type of wiring that is in the chandelier. So we might have to redo that completely, because we need about 10 more feet. The quality is excellent I’m not really sure the intentions behind the drywall screws that are included. As you really would not want to use drywall anchors, do you want to secure this into a stud if you’re dealing with that sort of installation. Overall, I am very pleased with this product. Overall, it's a great product. It looks fabulous and is half the price of similar items at online lighting stores. The assembly instructions are pretty bad, but enough to get the product put together. There are washers that used when attaching each arm, but they are not mentioned at all in the instructions. The actual assembly was not difficult, but it was tedious. Attaching the 24 arms took over an hour. The wiring also was not difficult, but tedious. The instructions for the wiring are also not very clear. Additionally, since you have 48 wires to connect, it would be easy to cross a black and a white wire, which would not be good, so you need to be careful and double check the wiring before closing things up and turning on the power. Overall it took 2 hours to finish the assembly. Mounting on the ceiling was easy, but besides the mounting bracket, I didn't use any of the supplied hardware. I'm not sure how that hardware would be used. It had drywall screws with mollies. I'm pretty sure installing without a ceiling box would not be up to code. The one thing they did not include were screws that fit the ceiling box, so I had to scrounge those up. There were no mounting instructions at all besides a picture showing that you can mount on a flat or angled surface. They supplied 3 pieces of chain with links that screw open on each end. 2 were the same size and the third piece was almost twice as long as the shorter pieces, so you can mix and match as needed. One of the shorter pieces worked perfectly for me. Mounting took about 30 minutes with an existing ceiling box. While the assembly was a pain, I still rated the product 5 stars, as the assembly is a onetime event and the final product should last years (or until my wife decides she wants something else : ) ) Overall very good product for the price. NOTE: After writing all this, I found out there are assembly videos on the product page. So throw away the manual and watch the video! ... show more

I've assembled some other chandeliers in the last year and this was the easiest mostly because there are instructional videos instead of a single page of poorly written instructions. Yes, there are a lot of parts. Yes, it takes a while. What I didn't experience was any frustration. It means so much to have clear instructions. I can't say this enough times. Assuming the quality is OK, the thing I hate most is wasting time figuring out how to assemble a thing because the instructions are so bad. Shandaglo, thank you! Once it's assembled the light installs with a standard bracket into a standard box. There are no surprises. The lamp itself is quite grand. It's worth the asking price. Check your measurements because it is large and takes up a large volume of space. It is both tall and wide and without the proper space to dedicate to it it can be overpowering. With the right space, it is amazing because it is grand. It will last a very long time. I replaced a dated 30-year-old lamp the original builder put in my home so improving what was there wasn't difficult. This is certainly an improvement. ... show more
