I currently own 10 Bitaxe Gamma miners from various vendors. 9 of those were not happy running at a boosted clock and voltage without modifying the heat sink and fans as well as replacing the thermal paste. This one I am writing this review about was quite the special Gamma 601. Right out of the box, I let it run at default settings to see how things looked with regards to temps of the asic and voltage regulator. After a few hours I adjusted the clock speed to 700mhz and the voltage to 1200mv. The fan speed increased to about 40 percent but was still very quiet. The temps stayed around 60c for the asic and around 59c for the VR. The only physical mods I did with this miner were the typical heat sinks on the power resistors and areas on the front of the board to help with heat dissipation. I did not need to replace the stock fan or asic heat sink which was a first for me. This exact 601 kit is like winning the silicon lottery. Medium boosting with very little modding required. Again the only mods I did were to add a few self sticking heat sinks. In other words, this is the best 601 right out of the box that I have ever purchased.

Very nice miner right out the box for first 24 hours. Comes in a nice box with unit assembled and power supply. We will see longevity but with default parameters, all the expected hash rate, temperature, and power efficiency parameters are achieved. Noise level is quiet at least at 20 deg. C room temperature. Board is good with just some hanging fibers that were easily cleaned up. Screen is not too well secured but is good enough for this entry miner.
