I used it to stop my cats and squirrels from jumping on elevated birdhouses from garage roof. There were no injuries to the cats but they definitely won't jump on birdhouse again! The spikes were very easy to install, the hardest part was using a ladder! They can be bent to go around corners or edges and once attached, look like they belong there. My entire neighborhood is using these bird spikes because they work, they're inexpensive, durable and blend into environment.

While the spikes are plastic, they are very sharp and I don't think any animals or birds would want to step on these spikes. I mount these on plank woods so they stay upright and in-place then place the plank wood behind my shed or under the deck where many animals to pass through or dig under. These do pretty good job stopping them from entering without harming them (well, they will get hurt if they try to step over it..)
