As a home recordist and podcaster, I can't tell you how many pairs of headphones I have gone through over the years. One thing they all had in common: they sounded great in the beginning, but then, slowly but surely, the quality degraded over time. Cords would become a tangled mess; the 1/4" jack connection became frayed; the headband would either loosen, crack, or fall off completely. So I was more than a little skeptical when I decided to give this 'bulk pack' of over-ear headphones a shot. Sure, they looked as if they were well constructed in the images - but we all know how a skillful photographer can make something cheap appear to be better than it really is. With anticipation, I took a pair out of the box, and opened it. I was floored that the construction of these headphones were well above average. The wired cord design was just the right length, and did not feel prone to getting tangled. The fit was snug and secure, but not uncomfortable. But the real test for me was, would it deliver a good sound? The sound quality was very near excellent: maybe higher-end products from Bose and Beats have the edge in terms of aural dynamics, but Sonitum delivers a very impressive sound and frequency range for the money. I plugged them into my computer, and they allowed me to work on my music software projects with confidence. I could clearly differentiate between various post-production tools and FX with accurate reproduction. The universal jack size meant I could use them with my cellphone. I opened Spotify on my Motorola Edge phone and (thanks to the onboard sound tools) I could try out various equalizer settings, until I located the one that worked best with the streaming platform. Sonitum exceeds performance expectations on all fronts in its price point - now, I have pairs to work on all my computer setups, analog and digital instruments, including laptops and my trusty, 25-year old iPod. I don't think I've ever posted a 5-star review for a product on Amazon before, but this time, their highest score is well deserved. ... show more

For the price, this is a really great way to outfit a bunch of people with some decent headphones. The sound quality won't win any awards, nor will the fit and comfort, but they're by no means bad, especially for the cost per unit. I used a pair for a little while to test it out, and they weren't bad. Donated the rest to my kids' school and they were happy to have them! ... show more

    • Great quality for the classroom and for the price
These are nice headphones for in-class use. The headbands are made of hard plastic. They neither bend nor offer a soft touch surface, but they are lightweight and feel reasonably durable. Each side slides out about an inch, and the ear cups are reasonably soft (feels like sponge foam). The sides do not clamp down hard, but the headphones do not move around when you shake your head. Even though the description states these are on-ear headphones, the ear cups are fairly wide so that they actually fit around your ears. These ear cups do fold in so that it is easier to store, but when folded, a single elastic tether is exposed in both of the folds. I believe the tethers function as a means for keeping the ear cups in place. There is nothing wrong with this design, but if you have naughtier students, they might try to cut these threads. The overall design is nice, with circular textures on the ear cups and a nice black finish. I also like how there is only a single cable and that the cable thickness should make tangles more manageable. The 3.5mm plugs are solid with three-ring connectors (TRRS). In terms of comfort, these headphones are quite comfortable to wear (thanks to the light weight, wide ear cups, and very light clamping pressure), especially since students probably won’t be wearing them for more than 45 minutes at a time. In terms of sound quality, they are perfectly fine for classroom use as the priority is for the students to hear their individual instructions. I’m not exactly sure how to describe it, but things sound a bit muddy or muffled to me. When listening to music, it seems like the different sounds and instruments are blended together. Spoken words are intelligible but sound a bit compressed. Volume is not a problem as they can be played at pretty high volumes and still sound clear. The in-line mic also works well enough, and the single button can be used to pause and resume playback. In general, these are okay headphones (comfortable with decent sound quality), but they are great for the classroom. For a pack of 25 at less than 5 bucks each, these headphones are outstanding for the price. ... show more

    • Ear-resistable!
As a middle school math teacher, these headphones are ear-resistible for independent Chromebook work! Finally, a way to drown out the “What’s the answer?” chorus and enjoy some peaceful teaching moments. Plus, they’re comfy enough that even my most wiggle-prone students stay focused, or at least they look like they are! They survive the daily chaos of my classroom like champs, no broken wires or lost earbuds yet (knock on wood!). The sound quality is so clear, I almost forget they’re not noise-canceling magic.
