Really happy with it

At first I wanted to go with one of the super cheap non-electric bidet attachments we saw on Amazon but after living with this for a few weeks I’m glad we got this one. This one works fine when it’s not plugged in to an outlet or if the power goes out. But the electric features make it more useful. Basically we live in a place where the water gets super cold in winter so having this warm the water up to room temp makes the whole thing way better. Some of the other models we looked at connect up to the warm water line but that’s not really helpful in the middle of the night when the warm water line is cold and you have to run it for 30 seconds and wait for the warm water to come through. Also if you have young kids there’s a feature where it doesn’t spray unless someone is sitting down. That saves a lot of mess from kids playing with it. Honestly this was a great deal for the price. Way cheaper than some of the luxury brands. Install is very simple and it comes off easy for cleaning. And I actually like that it doesn’t need a remote. Only complaint is that when you sit down it beeps to let you know it’s ready and the beep is kind of loud. I don’t want beeps and boops. It doesn’t say this in the manual but you can turn off the beep by pressing and holding the seat warmer button. I had to google it. ... show more

BB500, the features you want without the unnecessary frills... best deal for a bidet you can find!

We had the more expensive Bio Bidet 2000 the last 6 years and it was awesome until it finally croaked, but we didn't use most of the functions so felt it was overkill in price and functionality. We just bought this BB500 unit recently to replace it, for roughly a third the price of the BB2000 unit and it is just as awesome BUT it doesn't have most of those extra functions we never really used, like the dryer, the air circulator vent, etc. For the record the BB500 does seem to have better water pressure and volume during the cleaning cycle than the BB2000 which we really like but that is our subjective opinion and not technically measured. Lastly, there is no remote or batteries to fuss around with, and it has an easy to operate control on the right side which we found quite easy to use. For us it is the more perfect solution, and since it is so much more affordable, we are going to order more and install them on ALL our toilets in the house. ... show more

Works well, slightly unconventional controls, instructions aren't always accurate...

This unit works well - it isn't as sophisticated in terms of controls as some more expensive models, but it does deliver sufficiently adjustable quantities of hot water and pressure, so the job gets done. The on-seat controls are a little wonky, in that they're located on either side of the seat (flow control on the right, temp control on the left) so you kind of have to grope around for them, compared to units with remote controls or more accessible on-seat controls. There are also fewer options than on more expensive models, but for the price, this is a very good bidet and a good value. One installation note: the instructions ask that you push two rubber stoppers through the toilet seat mounting holes on your toilet. This is only, apparently (confirmed by Bio's tech support) for one-piece toilets, which most people installing this unit likely don't have. There's no warning on this in the included instructions. If you have a two-piece (tank and seat separate) toilet, then omit the rubber stoppers and just use the metal screws on top of the rectangular washers and the spinning nuts to secure those screws on the underside. ... show more

So I received it on time but ended up put it away in storage for just about 8 months ... finally got it out & put it on with a brand new toilet, it was reasonably & surprisingly easy for the install, seat warming is ok, light function works and is also ok & seat is comfortable although it doesn't seem to match up with the upper cover (maybe that's just the design?) - HOWEVER - the little spray nozzles in the back under the seat do not work correctly at all. They simple trickle out water in the back of the toilet . I started to fiddle with it for a bit and I think I understand how they're suppose to protrude out from under the little flap they're behind and spray but they don't come out at all ... they're just a "WEE" shy, I guess, but isn't that the entire & exact reason to have the water function ?! ... MINE DOESNT WORK CORRECTLY AT ALL ! Hopefully, just maybe customer service will stand behind their product - we'll find out in the morning when I call and ask... stay tuned - I'm praying for a great customer friendly service experience in order to try & negotiate a great outcome & maybe, just maybe it's something very simple? I would love to change this rating to 5 stars and rewrite an absolutely wonderful review instead... ... show more

Best choice and best decision I've made

We have been using this for 2 weeks now after having a handyman install it. It works extremely well for me and my wife is adjusting to it. Chose this one because it is the simplest of the electrics and has the lowest profile. Flip a lever and it works, push the big button if you need to - simple! Being a large man I was concerned I would not be able to reach it comfortably but there's no issue. It's low profile makes it look very much like an ordinary seat and it does not throw you forward like others but it is a little different than your regular seat. It does a great job cleaning! It seems to take about 20-40 seconds to get clean, then I wait another 30 seconds to air dry and I'm on my way. The water is warm enough and it seems to have enough pressure without using the "turbo wash". This is so much better than wiping with paper - no "racing stripes"! Highly recommend for anyone struggling to reach or who wants a more hygienic way to do what we we all have to do. ... show more

Why did I wait so long?

We have a one piece Kohler toilet, no hot water inlet and a low plug a few feet away. I have been looking for the right bidet for several years without success. Many of them do not fit one piece toilets and having a cold stream hitting my bum was not something I wanted. Finally figured out to google all my needs for a bidet, and this one popped up. Brilliant! and Amazon was having a black friday sale - SCORE!!!! I was worried something used or defective would show up, but it was sealed up tight in its box and looked never touched by human hands. The installation took awhile, the instructions weren't clear on my particular model and could have been better. It's also VERY tricky to install the t-valve. Honestly, it takes two people so you don't screw up your flush valve inside the tank. The first time I tried it out, it was unplugged and yes, the water shot me in the face. Don't be like me! Don't turn the knob until you're good and plugged in. Also, the beeping was so annoying! I actually called biobidet to ask how to turn it off - "to turn off the beeping on the BB500 and BB550, hold the seat temp button on the right side of the seat, for 2 seconds." I also purchased an extension cord for the plug, and anchors so its not flopping around the bathroom. I'm not sure how long this thing will last, its got alot of gadgets, bells and whistles so its time is probably limited, so I cannot report of longevity. Fantastic! Does All You Need At A Great Price Point!

I have a Toto washlet bought years ago and wanted to add a toilet bidet to my second home. Since I bought that Toto washlet, competition has really amped up and pricing has really come down. This little BioBidet unit, purchased for about $200 bucks is just great for the price. Pros: Easy hook-up, sleek design, no huge reservoir taking up space, seated seat, heated water, toilet nightlight...the 'turn on' button isn't as convenient as a push button style or remote and the wand cleans itself prior to each use, so you have to be a tiny bit patient as it cleans right before it aims to do its job. The moment of waiting for the cleaning to start and the swivel on/off switch are the only aspects that I'm not 100% elated about. Cons: , but overall, I love it. Nicely upgraded electric heated warm-water bidet

This was purchased to replace a Uspa A7 that broke after 8-9 years; the Biobidet is a update to that product after the company was acquired by Bemis. They fixed a couple issues with the original product including high vampire drain for water heating and introduced one with an undocumented fix. Both products do the intended function well. Pros: - If the seat heat is off, there is no unreasonable vampire drain. The power consumption is less than one watt with the lights off, or around 1 watt with the lights on (which represents 7-8 kWh/year). It has a full on-demand water heater that is powerful enough to heat the water when the flow starts, thus there is no vampire drain just sitting there keeping water warm. - The primary controls are simplified. Its a knob that allows selection of which stream by turning foward (for front parts) or turning backward (for back parts). - Unlike predecessor which had warning not to sit or stand on lid, this model has no warnings and seems to be solid enough for 200lb individual to sit on the closed lid (for example to put on socks). I'd never stand on a toilet seat because any model could collapse, or shift sideways dropping you in the bowl. - The mechanical handle is a major upgrade compared to buttons or a remote. Your fingers will quickly remember how to operate it, even in middle of night without turning on any lights. Simpler is better. Cons: - Vampire drain for seat heat average about 10 watts or 80 kWh/year. This is quite significant its enough to drive an electric car 300 miles. If using it enables you to turn down the heat a degree (avoiding the shock of the cold seat) then it pays for itself. - The default and documented settings cause it to beep twice when you sit on the seat (I guess its acknowledging the presence sensor is "armed" and it can squirt. This is extremely annoying for both the user and others in the house in the middle of the night. Thankfully, the beep can be disabled by pressing and holding the seat heat button for 2 seconds (it will then beep twice). It will not beep again until the setting is repeated or the power is cycled. Neutral: - There is a 0.25 to 0.5 second burst of cold water right when the flow starts, then it warms up to the set temp. This is better than massive vampire drain simmering water 24/7. However they could probably fix this in a new model that doesn't cost more, by preheating during the end of the rinse cycle just before the flow turns on. The installation isn't difficult but you have to ensure there are no drips/leaks at all the junctions (at the shutoff valve, at the bottom of the tank, the whole tee, and both ends of the bidet hose. Dry the connection with a paper towel. Sample with a dry paper towel; if any water is picked up the joint needs to be tightened another quarter turn. I am also happy there is no blowdryer. After studying electric hand dryers for spreading covid plumes, I'd hate to see what plumes a blower in a toilet could produce. If you need to dry use ~4 squares of 1 ply TP. ... show more
