  • Very nice mscope for the money
If you are new you might go on youtube to learn how to use microscopic before you return this thing l, i was so close to return it because i thought it didnt work but it was me disnt kmow how to use it. To start use the 4x to find the specimen then 10x then up to 40x. It looks pretty clear through the scope and so much fun showing it to the kids, sure worth the money. ... show more

  • Cheap and cheaply made. Some featured simply don't work
Thriftily made for sure, but I expected that considering the price. It arrives with the objective wheel wobbly on rotation, and it shouldn't be. I can lock in an objective fairly well so I let that go. The focusing is pretty good, but my big beef is the X and Y directional controls are complete junk and simply don't work. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't bother with this item, but seeing as it cost what my wife and I might pay for a good full meal at a restaurant I'll probably keep it and work around all its faults. You get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Junk! Don't waste your money.
Junk. Arrived broken. Purchased in July for granddaughter for Christmas so it was not opened until it was too late to return. Don't waste your money. It looks like a nice microscope but it is cheaply made and nothing but junk. The objective lens do not rotate. You have to unscrew each one to change the magnification, which we could not do because it arrived broken. For not that much more you can purchase a microscope from a vendor that sells good equipment to schools. ... show more

  • Looks much better than it works.
We bought one to evaluate as a high school biology scope for beginners. Regrettably, it's mostly flash and no substance. Maybe for an elementary school level. I was attracted to the LED stage light, the stage clamps with micrometers, and binocular head. The binocular ocular lenses are not well aligned, so stereo microscopy is not really possible. The worst part is that the optics are terrible for anything above 4ox power (10X occular, 4X objective.) The higher power objectives have complex axial astigmatisms making resolving images impossible. Details are blurred and distorted. Con's - cheap construction, many loose parts, mounting threads into plastic housing likely to strip easily, very poor optics, LED lighting unfocused. Pro's- focus knobs are tight and smooth. Objective lens head turns smoothly and locks into place well. Very inexpensive. ... show more
